Over the past year or so, Ridin Rox and I have been playing flake as we intended to ride together but one of us (usually me) had to change plans. Well, today we actually made it happen. Thanks Rox for driving down to Aliso to join me. Sorry Ray couldn't join in.

Rox has four ingredients that make a great riding partner - stoke, skill, courage and fitness. She also purposely ditched the external speaker music (thank you) and the TMI didn't come out until the parking lot after the ride!

We did a nice warm up through Coyote up to Milf park, and climbed up behind the houses to get to 5-Oaks. Ooops, I mean we accessed 5 -Oaks the only way you are allowed to, by HAB up the trail (;-)). 5-Oaks was as beat up as I've ever ridden it with powder, ruts and braking bumps, but it was still a blast. Rox rocked it well, especially since she says she hates loose conditions. She even drew a compliment from a guy hiking up. As Roxy hit the last section with the stairs I could hear her yelling in delight.

Then it was up Cholla to romp down Lynx. Rox took off while I waited up top - I don't think I really needed to wait as long as I did - she smoked it. Nooice!

Off through Coyote to Mathis. We had to wait for a train of 20 hikers to clear the up-and-over section near the Mathis end of Coyote. There's always a ton of traffic on that trail, and today was no exception. Up Mathis we went. I kinda needed to throw a rope over Rox so she could pull me up the hill. I motored up some 2-3 minutes behind.

Our final venture was a drop down Car Wreck. I've only done that trail 4 times now because I won't ride it alone and my usual riding buddies never want to ride it. I think I will add it into the rotation. It was in way better shape than 5-O. I had fun picking my lines and letting it run where I could. We got a little tangled with a dad and his son hiking the most technical part at the end. Oh well. I heard Rox' now patented battle cry as she descended.

2100' of climbing on a beautiful day, on some great trails. One of the people we passed commented that I was wearing knee and elbow pads while Rox was simply in Lycra. I just said it's because she's better than I am, and is much less likely to fall. Thanks Rox for a great morning of riding some challenging trails!

Now - we both expect Mo to give us crap about how cute it is that the old folks went for a geriatric ride together. Take it away MaMB!

I'm so glad we did this Chris. I tried to get Mo to join us but he wasn't up to "senior citizen sitting" ... oh well, you really missed it Mo!!

Chris has some mad mad skills. I happened to warn him before we dropped 5Oaks: You better not crash bc I'm not carrying your ass out of the park. To which he almost went off the trail on the first drop...tsk tsk.

More great memories to put in my memory bank!! When's our next ride Herz??

Nice RR Chris. I thought you're down with with people subjecting you to their choice of music. There's nothing like having a nice ride then hearing someone blast crap music through their Bose speaker strapped to their camelbak.

That's all you got? Disappointing. I'm shaking my cane at you as we speak.

Judging by your tone Hertz it sounds like you either didn't make it back in time for Bingo or didn't win anything...

You're not welcome. Roxy said I have "mad skills." I want to keep her delusion alive. You would quickly show her how wrong she is, then who would talk about me on STR? No wonder they call you Sh##y!

Chris, I now pronounce you king Sand Bagger. May you continue to de-hype your skill and blow everyone away everytime you ride. I assume youll be racing the begginer class at fontana this season? ;P

While it's true I would rather undersell than oversell my abilities, have you ever seen Doublewide race DH? He usually wins his class (Expert) by 10 seconds a run at Fontana. Mercifully, I have kept myself in Sport class, so times are not directly comparable, as I am relegated to a much less gnarly path down the hill. Bottom line, Sh##y can ride!

    Here's an example: http://www.southridgeusa.com/results_dh_3_3_12.php

Winner of Expert men 43-50 is our man. Please note that he beat everybody in the two age classes younger than him as well.

Meanwhile, Yours Truly got smoked by 14 seconds in my own class. Ouch!

    :bang:

Pfft....I watched Shitty come down Barham (Oaks) from Deer; he took the P-line while I took the A-line...I wasn't impressed (did your head shrink back to size now DW??...good), there's only room for one big head here on STR - take it away Unigeezer....lol

Chris, I saw you get completely sideways on that hillside/bank...f'in SB!!
