    From what i'm told...

There's still a bunch of snow up top at Packer Saddle (the figure i've heard is 9 feet).

Has anyone here heard anything current about this?

While there is plenty of snow still at the top, it is down to 9' from 15' two weeks ago. Last year we had 12' on the saddle with 10 days before the event.

Pray to the sun gods and sacrifice a DH bike!

    It just keeps getting better!

Mother Earth Brew Co from beautiful Vista CA has graciously decided to hop on board as well. So the next time you are heading to the San Diego area stop on by!

Even though we got snow last weekend in the sierras, it is melting very fast. Downieville will be a blast!

With as fast as the snow is melting it presents a new problem...fast moving streams. Rivers are seeing record rates of water coming down. Just ask Evan about coming down Tobias.

Hmm, wow it would be so cool to see/ride with you guys again!
Maybe I can drive down from Boise, if can get the time off (temp jobs don't give "tiem off per se"). I would need to go purchase better camping gear, which was needed anyhoo.

Is there still room at this time?

I may be leaving Thursday afternoon and I may be up there alone till Friday night.
Is anyone going up early that I can ride with? I know the trails!
Can someone (Gene hinthint) keep in touch with the ranger stations to keep an eye on the snow pack? I don't want to waste my vacation time riding the lower trails. Snob that I am!

Liz, you snob! There's still plenty of goods down in those lower trails!

But yeah, I'm still reallllllly hoping that Sunrise, Butcher, Big Boulder and the rest are open by next weekend too. Check out the mtbr thread...it's sounding like the snowpack's melting pretty fast, and that we'll be ok by next weekend. Maybe a little soggy, but clear.
