If you're bringing just one bike, Willie ... bring an AM. There are plenty of other trails to ride there besides the famous downhill trail... I rode a 5.5 Intense there last year and had a ball on everything. This year I'm taking the Tallboy. Downieville is a special place and can't say enough about the riding and the event that Andy puts on. Sure hope you and Pat can arrange your schedule to come... You will not be sorry!

    PS: I'm bringing the guitar

From my experiences at Dville, both the Gathering and the Classic, a 5.5" or 6" AM rig is the weapon of choice.
I've done the HT 29er, Slope Style etc and while they were both fun in their own way my HT almost fell apart and the Slope Style was not that fun on some of the uphills....and there are some uphills at Dville.;)

My Tracer kills it at Dville, Pat bring your Uzzi and let it run.:bang:

We did a ride on Saturday that was a kicker of a ride. After the DH part we did another 13+ miles that had lots of guys dropping like flies. OMR even said "When the **** will this ride end?" With that in mind, I rode the Slayer(6" travel). I climbed with it, but it was nice to have the plushness. Most had their XC bikes. Timmy(jasonmason) rode his 5 Spot. Andy on his Niner SS, but that's Andy. Kurt will be there with his fleet of bikes. A few demo'd the Altitude and loved it. Arron demo'd the Slope Style and loved it. As you can see, many different bikes, there will be some climbing at the end of the DH, but not much. Hope this helps.

I would like to extend a hypothetical \\:D/

Again, let me reassure you that this \\:D/ is purely hypothetical.

Bring an AM/XC bike, there is climbing at altitude. The shuttle just cuts out that 8 mile fireroad climb to the top of the trails.

I'm looking forward to riding all the other trails besides the famous downhill trail! The Yeti is gonna have sooo much fun!:bang:

Is the $20 shuttle each time up or for the whole day?

    Last years price was $20/shuttle.

I have to give you all fair warning here....

YOU NEED TO BOOK YOUR SHUTTLES IN ADVANCE!

Did you hear me?!?!?!?! IN ADVANCE!!!!

We have a new brewery in SoCal. Well at least new to me. It is nestled in the foothills of Rancho Santa Margarita. We are stoked to have them locally.

Well it looks like CisMontane Brewing Company will be joining us in Downieville as well!!!!
