Look at the expression on the face of the kid watching... comic!

Maybe if the rider let go of the bars and jumped clear, the crash wasn't too bad?

I had a grip come off the bars once in mid flight when I was a kid. The end result was not pretty.](*,)

This guy isn’t a true weight weenie either. I mean who only installs one brake...true weight weenies go brakeless. He redeemed himself though with saving weight with no shirt or helmet. :bang:

If the brake cable wasn't there he probably would have done a back flip.

I did the same thing off a loading dock. Came to the end of the dock pulled up real hard and the gooseneck came right out. I bailed but still landed on the bike. No broken bones but I was hurting a lot, in a lot of places for a long time.

This sounds very similar to the old 'loosey gooseneck' problem on my old BMX bike. Those allen heads would always rust out, and you'd be pulling up off a jump wondering why your handlebars and moving back and forth. #-o
