Weather was perfect! Sorry I had to bail early on you guys had to get home to family.. It was nice to meet some of the legends of STR. I was the local guy in camo shirt on the blue giant trance.

    No kidding. I was expecting:

The waning of the moon in combination with a low pressure front as measured by calculus simulations . . . followed by another four paragraphs from Varaxapedia. lol

After hanging out in Jenson for a bit, I stayed out until 4:45 playing in the epic hero dirt. Playing on the rocks is cool, but the dirt is rarely like this, and getting some speed (20-35 MPH) and feeling some Gs on the roller coaster sections and the slightly cambered turns is amazing fun. Kind of cool when you see the carve marks made earlier, when you re-ride the line.

Ah, was just trying to say, I saw a decent number of 9ers out there, and figured it would've been nice to share the thrills to be had on the XC loop. It's the one of the rare times that they can ride their lightweight tires and push their limits in speed and cornering, since they have extra traction. Figured the 9er riders would rather be rolling stuff rather than trying to fly, or watching others trying to fly. Flying isn't known to be a 9r strong point. ;)

Seth at JensonUSA trying to talk me into 650b, when my bike is only months old...

Seth has too, he's part of the bike industry...

Just kidding, but the way you ride that Yeti, you alone disapprove any positive that a 650b has over a 29'er.

I actually tried that solo jump with the long runway that Tom claimed was 25 ft to the landing, quite a few times by myself. I wonder if I made it even 15 ft. I was daring to go maybe 20 MPH off that tall and skinny ramp, which is pretty damn scary. Approaching that narrow/skinny ramp at that speed and seeing nothing immediately behind it...

I have to admit I like that now. Being "big", yet not unforgiving, gave me a goal that I can see myself trying to progress on. Thanks Tom. I have to admit, after not doing that kind of stuff for a long long time, you got me back into it.

I would have like to see it, but after three hours out there I was starving. Plus, don't think I could hang. A tour of what else is out there might be cool sometime.

Tom which one is the 25ft gap? Is that last one in the sequence of jumps in that one section with the berms, or is this a different one? I don't know the area terribly well, only been a couple of times..
