For anyone wondering, trail conditions were very good today before the rain started up. Nowhere near as wet as i thought it would be. We'll see on Sunday how it holds up.

The g12 is a good alternative to the nikon, so is that lumix dmc-lx5. Was never a fan of panasonic camera's but I like that one.

Totally in for a STR photo shoot, even a STR Strobist shoot would be cool too.

Off topic: Those interested in Strobist, the two "Masters" will be in LA next month. www.theflashbus.com

Right now I shoot with a Canon 5D2, but wouldn't mind going to the "dark" side and getting a Nikon D3. :)

I was out there today too. (With the sheep) That decomposed granite really sucks up the water. Seems like 12 hours after a rain and you are good to go, with only small portions to avoid.

Hubby has a pack I bought him to carry the D200 with lens - weighs a ton when full. Which is great slows him to almost my speed ;)

He is trying to justify a new lens (the motor in his long one died) I told him he can't have the 360, lens and D3 until I get my DH bike!

Yes....but in the rare chance it gets full, folks can park at the original meeting area (Canyon Crest shopping center)

Was driving up Allesandro about 30 minutes ago and the sheep are grazing on that side today. The flock is between Barton and San Gorgonio.

I know some people complain about it, but I personally prefer sheep for weed abatement over them taking a plow through there.

im new to riding and i ride sycamore canyon alot due to its pretty much my back yard... is it me but when i ride down to the central parking lot and start im dead tired due to some of these hills.... i mostly ride back by jenson due to the hills not being so long and steep... or is there another route that everyone takes from central parking that isnt so ball busting (well for me it is)

As i'm new too, those hills heading back up from Central kick my rear big time. I usually start out around Jenson's and Central is about 1/2 way through my ride. My legs are spent by the time i get there and start climbing up. Looks like we need to ride out there more together since we seem to be on the same HAB page. On a sad note, I do seem to nearly HAB on the technical downhill section as much as the uphill. lol. I almost rode down rattlesnake clean yesterday though. I just gotta suck it up and carry some momentum to clear some of the drops.

    BTW, Denmother's image here

That is crazy! I rode up to it the other day and and gasped. This pic doesn't fully convey how steep that is. Have fun with that one. ACk.

Pictures rarely convey how steep anything is.

Yeah that BFR is really steep. Pictures and video's usually don't do it justice. Here's chewy rolling it for the first time about a month or so ago.

I did see your hill today between hail and rain (I think) I did see box cyn park from my vantage point. I will prolly just roll the SART and go up and down the Rubidoux a few times. Maybe I will roll Big Sycamore if I can stick around Ca.
    Happy trails
