    Gonna ride Sycamore Canyon (Riverside) friday afternoon. ride time start 6:00pm. Meet at Jenson parking lot. Will probably hit upper Sycamore with jump run, and then rattlesnake. Everyone welcome.

    Well, that helps explain the bits of rabbit carcass I see lying around on the side of the trail sometimes.

    I saw one out today just chilling in the middle of the trail. Didn't even notice it until I got close, because I was tired and looking down. Didn't rattle, but it coiled up defensively pretty fast. I just left it to sunbathe, rather than disrespect it by oogling it and getting close.

    Carcass'es are probably from coyotes not snakes. I don't think a snake could eat only part of the animal.
