I live in Riverside County, but work in Escondido and grew up in East County.

As far as trails, after Noble anything else down there will be a let down. However, there are other options. I like Elfin Forest, Daley Ranch is a nice workout but not my favorite. Mission Trails is fun every once in a while. Ask SDYeti and some of the other locals and they will hook you up for sure.

Hollenbeck is my favorite ride spot.

Hollenbeck Rocks!:bang: It's a great ride especially after a tough day at work, you ride to the top and just take it all in. Im surprised that not many people go there. Are you from around Eastlake by any chance?

We are in Eastlake, too. Moved there a few months ago and have yet to ride Hollenbeck.

Trail suggestions in the area...not much...for longer weekend rides we do Daley/Cuyamaca/Noble or beyond. I always liked Florida Canyon for a nice change of pace now and then. Mission Trails for when we want to get our climb on. Sycamore is aight, too...summer we saw sooo many snakes though

edit: I found it on MTBBill's website.

There are trails that run along Rice Canyon and in/around Bonita. You can make a huge loop out of it and ride pretty far. There is a drop-in point from the Home Depot on East H that goes through Rancho del Rey. The bits and pieces of trail actually make for a nice ride.

Maybe we can put Hollenbeck on that late fall to-do list?

    New Again!

Well, back in the early '80s things were a tad different.

Just picked up a nice ride, NORCO LT2 and have had it out just a bit. WOW! smooth..

My second trail attempt turned into a non-trail event in the middle of SoCal scrub over my head. Carried the bike over my head for about 15-20 minutes until I got to the RR tracks... You know, that bike makes a great support system for an old man to lean on and catch his breath.

Been a while since I've had the thrashed shins... actually they are not that bad, but the wifey was impressed!

I'm in Oceanside. Gonna check out the trails near the house first, over by that little lake..in Carlsbad..

Once I get some legs again, I'd be into hooking up for rides..

Heart of a horse, brain of a Goat...

Welcome from your neck of the woods. I'm in Chula, Otay Ranch to be exact, not too far from the Olympic training center. I like Anderson's for a good ride 2nd to Noble.
