Just registered on this site - am based in mid-city Diego (Kensington) and riding Mission Trails from the house, or driving to Sweetwater and anywhere else. Got back into the MTB recently when I got a full-suspension bike - had been on hardtails for 15+ years and was riding less off-road 'cause I couldn't take the beatings. I also still get out on the road bike, only less so nowadays.

We used to live in North Park (El Cajon and Illinois)...I used to run through Kensington. Now we're in UTC.

There's usually at Tues night right at Los Penasquitos and the South Bay guys post a lot of rides too.

    Welcome!:welcome:

Cool - thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am interested to try Sweetwater from H Street sometime, I usually start in the day-use lot by the campground. Don't know if I can make this Saturday and I appreciate the invite - schedule is a little crazy the next few weeks, but if I do make it out I'll look for you all - what time do you all start Baja?

I ride MTRP frequently during the week, live a couple blocks from the Clairemont Mesa entrance, but it's early in the A.M., e.g., on the trail by 6 a.m. I won't be out there again until next week due to 8a.m. meetings at work this week and being out of town this weekend. If you are an early riser send me a PM and maybe we can meet up next week or thereafter at MTRP. Gotta check the local paper though, I think they are clsoing some parts of the park soon to do water pipe project.

    Hello:welcome:

You are centrally located to all the trails 20 minutes or less to most.

Like was said Chula Vista/Bonita rides are Tues & Thurs @ 3:30pm & Sun @ 8am out of the Performance Bike shop in Bonita led by Hoser. The rides are usually 20-30 miles.

I sometimes can be seen in mid-city riding a de-stickered aluminum Giant Bowery.

I'd really like to get some early starts in during the week - for sure in April when my schedule changes a bit as currently I'm at my desk by 6:00AM. I have seen the water pipe work the last couple weeks, at this point it looks like they are prepping the site for the big work to come. So far all the crews I have run into have been friendly and very courteous.

Cool, I will keep both in mind and see how things shape up this weekend. I should be able to make at least one of the two rides (Sunday or Saturday) Thanks Baja and Luna for the invites.

OffRoadie, I'll keep an eye out for you around town! I will give a shout if I see you. Usually I get around town on an orange and silver Canyon hardtail.
