I heard that we won't be able to ride by the lake anymore, why is this?

The city of Fullerton has been doing a lot of work at Laguna Lake. Last weekend there were signs saying that it was blocked off, but it was still open. We circumvented the Lake just to be safe, but it looked like the path was ridable.

Either way, respect the sign. It's only a few hundred yards that are "closed off". 99% of the Loop is open.

Last weekend you could still ride the lake if you ignored the signs, none of the construction really affected the trail, mostly benches being torn out and such. Still, it is was easy just to shoot around the lake on streets.

I rode last night and the sign at the lake entrance said "Bike Lane Ends". Then about 20 feet later another sign said "Watch for Cyclists". :?:

Maybe it's "open", but there is no specific "bike lane"...

When I rode it there was equipment at the other end so we could not go all the way through; so we just rode on the other side of the lake.

There is plenty of ways around it, we should be fine sunday. Still, I will bring extra supplies in case we get stuck there and have to spend the night.

Rode the loop today, and there was caution tape marking construction areas around the lake, but no obstructions on the path. Should be fine unless they do construction on sunday...yeah right. :)

Otay I am gonna do my best to make it in the morn. I may have to cut it short depending on how this cold effects me. I want to try to sweat this thing out even if it makes me hurl.

I got out there just after 9 with the wife and trailer. We didn't finish til 12:30. Pulled the trailer with the SS, what a workout! Cleaned some hills and hiked up others. But fun on a SS as well.

    Fun Loop!

Thanks Pugzie beautiful day fun ride. Pugzie kept it fun for the newbies. Steve cool sweep and Lee kept it fun for the more intermediate+ riders.

I have a question for the fully riders. Julia tells me she has been riding down this steep dh, today she noticed a sign that said "hikers only" does anyone know anything about this path? Of course I don't have a clue. Don't want her riding something she's not suppose to ride.

    Thanks

I think she is talking about hospital hill. I don't think it is really enforced, its more a deterrence because it is really steep. The signs before that sign say watch downhill speed. Its not technical at all so you can take it really slow. Everybody rides it and have for years. There is however two other options.

    Dino @ The Loop

    Can't forget Dino.

Thanks for showing up at the Loop this morning with the Stem. It really is too bad it didn't work out.

Just means I get to ride the IronHorse a little longer.

    Thank You!
