STR picnic/bbq, who is down?!?!?!

Snow Summit sounds good, but if there are those that wanted something more local, I think Alta Laguna Park (Top of the World) would be a good spot. Lots of parking, BBQs, picnic tables, and you can legally drink beer there (city park) as long as there is food too. Plus, need I mention the trails immediately accessible from there?

 

i'm down for most anything (as long as date makes sense - NO fathers day for me):?:

that said BB will most def knock out a few - at least do it on a sat so we can rent a cabin or campout that evening and keep the party going!!!:bang::beer::drunk:

 

Like I had posted before, The lake is down the street, we can make base camp there and ride up to Summit to ride the lifts.

Could make it family friendly that way too!

The Date is Set!

The Date Sat July 12th is set for the STR BBQ & Ride in Big Bear at Snow Summit. We'll ride trails via the lifts. There are several trails to ride, from Beginner to Expert rider, so everyone can enjoy..

Bring your family, make a weekend out if it

Also: I see Rim Nordic has a stage race that weekend, so some of you may be racing, It's only about 20 mins further up the hill. So we'll see you after the race!

P.S. Are there any playgrounds in BB for the toddlers?

just kidding. i've ridden up there a bunch of times. mostly ride up to top but have taken the lift before as well.

I have a little cabin in nearby Green Valley Lake if people want to stay overnight and do some more riding on Sunday the 13th (I'll probably make a weekend out of it).

 

My in-laws live up that way. I'm sure they'd love to see their daughter while I ride.

Yes - down by the lake...

I'm in the process of looking into Meadow Park on the shore at the bottom of Summit Blvd.It has bbq's, a swim beach (with lifeguards),a playground,etc.
It would be a nice little uphill road ride up to Snow Summit via Summit Blvd, but would make the BBQ very family friendly with plenty of room.

Oh and also: I already made the call about bevi's, and got the big Thumbs UP!
