OMG! OMG! OMG! LET'S DO THIS AGAIN!!

    APRIL 13/14/15

It seems like it's been a long time
since I sat around a camp fire with all my buddies, new and old, on STR!

Have you ever been there? Yes? Have you ever been there with a big fun STR group? No?
It's really fun with a big group of your buds! You can ride with a group or set off on your own with whomever you want.
We won't turn you away because you smell bad, soon we will all smell bad! That's camping with Pain Freak! :?:

It has been a while, but with the VQ the week before and another camp out planned on the weekend of Apr 20-22, I don't think I can get 3 weekends off in a row. Thanks for setting it up though.

Thanx for posting dirtmistress! Can you give me more info about this event? I am still new here and am intrigued with this idea. I am assuming people will be sleeping in tents or will there be cabins? Forgive the ignorance, i been wanting to do something like this, just never knew how they went.

No cabins. It's tent city unless you have an RV as some do. There are coin operated showers so bring quarters. Most people share sites, but you can get your own and have others pitch in.

By day, rides are set up then night before and depending on level of riding, we've split into groups with varying routes, mileage and difficulty. Some will leave early to get a head start to do the extra miles while others leave later and possibly link up. By night, everyone cooks, drinks and hangs out.

Check the RR links posted in the 1st post for the pics to really get an idea of the area and types of trails ridden.

Was just talking with Dean and Scott about this. Such great times in the past. Alas, with a kid and a CPA in the family, just too hard to make it happen before April 15th these days.

Always a blast up there. Have fun!

Do Ramona and Southridge trails qualify as DH?
I'm thinking shuttle Southridge on Friday evening, 20 miles of ST on Saturday, and Ramona Sunday AM.

Rereading those RRs made me remember just how fun these were. I'm checking my schedule today, but if all's good I'll be there!

Sounds great again - and again I can't make it.
I'll be camping out at the OC Fairgrounds with a bunch of 4H kids.

I seriously wish I could post up dates agreeable for everyone. The camp-out is generally held in April and I did my best making sure there were no conflicts.
Race dates are too hard to pin down as there are always races going on and I can't check them all.
It's still pretty far away and things change so maybe some of you will still be able to make it for at least a day.

You'll never get a date that will work for everyone so I wouldn't worry about. That weekend in April is actually good for most. April 7 is the VQ/CC, April 20-22 is Sea Otter. They'll always be races going on, but how many times does STR as a group campout?
