Thanks to everyone that came out, I sold a complete bike and a truckload of stuff. I didn't expect there to be this many buyers, so many offers on my stuff that I didn't get to shop! I guess the wife's happy, but I missed out. Thanks for playin...

the CadenceWorks guy? he was just north of Lee, and he had a bunch of things on a table/by the truck/his lady selling things as well. It was probably him. Not sure what he posts by on here. Email him from the website.

Also, in a rush to get home I forgot to go back to the guy that was in the main area selling a bunch of boxed SRAM stuff. If you're seeing this, I was interested in 2 of the 3 sets of glasses you had hanging up, but I never came back. If anyone has any contact info that'd be great.

    Great ride as always Dino!

Too bad I wasn't able to video the "train" heading down the short singletrack after the first regroup.

anyway, here are a few pics I snagged:

Awesome!! Looks like a fun time. Wish I could have made the swap-meet. Good to see part of the Ascendication (Ventura Chapter) representin'. Once I get back on the bike, I think a Tandem with N4th and DC29er pedaling up front with me on the trailer would be a great way to start. Hey Dino, I think that was the first time I've NOT seen you wearing a blue shirt ;).

Yeah I great huge group. I tried to run the traffic warning system but just couldn't work my way back to the front of the group after Hilscher park and the bottom of Valley View. Oh well those are really the only two parts where you really can't see. I couldn't believe the amount of cars when we got back to the lot.

Fully Loop was fun today. Thanks Dino and Co. for everything.
Did the whole loop with some trail vets that guided me through the many options / broken trails.
Was fun. I'm definitely doing it again with the group.

Looks like I missed out. My buddy cancelled Sat. night, then I forgot to set my alarm and slept til 7:45. I was bummed because there was a lot of people on the RSVP list I wanted to meet. I spent all my dough on a Mother's Day gift for my wife, so I wasn't planning on attending the swap meet. I still put in 15 miles in CHSP, because not riding wasn't an option. I'll make one of these events eventually.

Wow, that group speaks volumes and is a mere microcasm of the reality of mountainbikers in the community. Great show of diversity.

Dino. Great to finally meet you. I wish I could commit to every Sun. I cut a lot out to catch back up. Not that I'm slow, out of shape, and a noob. I was enjoying the scenery. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Swap meet was great as was meeting everyone.

After demoing the Epic 29er, I almost bought a new bike today. Then I decided I can't afford the divorce. Wife would kill me.

    Ultra Highlights:
-The SURPRISING turnout of first-timers and lurkers!

-5 or 6 people who rode with us today were NOT STR members
(simply people who browse our pages)

    Highlights:
    -Brotherhood! Community! Friendship!
-I did not sense any of the patented awkwardness (most first timers feel on their first ride).
-Quite a few STR members drove "many miles" to join us (busterb, jomoe, salter etc.)
-Considering the size of our group, I was pleasantly surprised to make it back by 10am!
-Learned I had A LOT in common with quite a few STR members
    -Weather was nice and cool

    Lowlights:
-We started later than expected (no way we were going to ditch late arriving first timers)
    -Couldn't keep the group together
-Due to the size of the group (and the fact we were rushing), few were able to experience what a Sunday Newbie Ride is all about (i.e. super mellow).
-I don't know how-- Salter77 found his way behind the sweeper (wrong turn... extra credit... who knows). Special thanks to EricW for getting him back to the car.

    Ultra Lowlight:
I forgot my friends name! #-o
It was a few minutes after 8am... We were running late... Frustration had begun to set in... All of the sudden DEADWEIGHT stops by to say hello! He noticed I had a few blank name tags... Asked for one.. As I began writing, I realized I had forgotten his name... Trouble is: We ride together every Thursday and Sunday!!! I'm losing it!

If you're not doing anything next Sunday...

    Lee,

Julia is very happy with her go-pro it's all setup on the dining room table. I made her buy it with her own money and she keeps asking if I am serious. I smile and reply; I am very serious.

I purchased some pedals from Tmac and fell in love with some cranks and I am still thinking about them. Tara I was like you moneyless left my purse and cell phone at home. Had to drive home and pickup money for Julia's go-pro.

It was a great time at the loop today and it was nice to see such a big group.

    I agree: Great Job Dino!

A lot of riders showed up to ride the loop this morning, great group, and the swap meet was nice, was only able to sell one thing though!

Nice to finally meet fatguy1 and mongo, hopefully they can join us in future fully rides
