I just looked at the reservation map #-oPretty quick here STR is going to have the whole camp reserved.

105 - 111 & 121 -122, The enitre corner is us. Boy do I feel for anyone camping around us.

Once again Allison thanks for putting the bug in our ears -obviously this was needed!

Glad it is taking off! I think we will probably definitely need to look into varying rides :)

I don't think that Ramona Trail is beginner friendly either. The fire road perhaps, but the singletrack descent is rocky, the switchbacks are tight, etc. Doesn't mean someone can't walk the hard parts, but it might be a looong ride for a newb.

The Hurkey Creek course is great for all types of riders, though.

We still would like to do the Pro/Expert Idyllwild Spring Challenge course, which is around 30 miles and 6k ft of climbing.

The shuttle has parts that might be beginner friendly, but the climb up is a long haul, and the first part of the descent is not easy (loose, narrow trail with exposure).

I forgot... I wanted to give a big thanks to Dean, Scott, and Lynn for putting this out last April and starting a great tradition!

What do you think the rangers are thinking with this campground filling up so quickly for nothing?? :D

Just a friendly bump to keep this on the radar for anyone that missed it yesterday. Then I'll probably do it weekly!

I dug thru my GPS Tracklogs from last year and created profiles for the two rides we did. Thomas Mt. Ramona Trail from camp and Huber to Hurkey shuttle. I don't look at either ride as being real hard.

Will anybody be up there on Friday afternoon???

My wife has said NO to camping overnight because we will be camping there overnight for the race on the April 26th. ( Apparently camping 2 times in 1 month is not acceptable to her.)

I was thinking of taking a day off work and driving up there Friday afternoon to spend a few hours on the trails.

Any chance somebody was planning on getting there that early?

I should be up there before noon, that's my plan. I think my drive time is about 2- 2.5 hrs. I'm in site #111

Dean, Scott and Lynn got in a loop around the course I believe Friday last time. Well, that and then some probably.

Justin and I will be there before sunset to set up camp, but that is probably it!

My plan is to get up there early enough Friday to get in a afternoon ride. Last year it was a bit cold at night to make night riding fun, but I am bringing lights just incase.

I am going to try to make it up for some riding on Saturday. I can't stay the night, camping in Moab later in the month.

What time will the first Intermediate/Advanced ride start? Or I should say, might start.

Had a change in fortunes, and this is now looking pretty good. If all goes according to plan, I should be there late morning-early afternoon Friday. Just need to pitch the tent, then it's off to the 24 hr. course. Some company would be great.

I have site 113. My wife is coming and would like to ride. She's not a Noob MTBer but isn't fast or technical. Anyone going to be there she can ride with?
