I am guessing that at that point in the year (early April) it'll be upper 30s at night, maybe low 40s.

You'll need a decent sleeping bag if you wanna be comfy :)

Hey, I didn't take the time to read the 3 pages of the thread before I secured the site. I saw "STR Weekend" and went straight to the reservation site. I'll take the "ninja-like" as a compliment of the seriousness I have for the weekend.

It was cold last year, even a bit during the day. But, we hung around the fire in the evenings. Just bundle up.

This is gonna be sooo fun!

So glad to see the interest even this early on. Sorry for those that can't make it on this weekend! #-o

    SWEET.

Hey does s'mores stuff last for 9 months? No really.. I've got graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate from Downieville... :-k

A noob would be fine,Hurkey is a little under 11 miles I think, with stiff climbs here and there.Ramona trail is a blast, the climb up is like blackstar.

If you are a Noob rider no problem!!

If you are a noob at being around a bunch of Mountain bike riding, beer drinking, BBQ eating, trash talking, no sleep getting, wild, but REALLY fun people to be around... It could be ugly, in a good way!!!

The rides we did last year where not noobie friendly. Thomas Mt Loop, from camp, Saturday and a Sunday big shuttle, Ernie Maxwell/Southridge Trail back down to Hurky Creek. With as many people that are signing up there maybe be the option of B rides. I would come and maybe explore the excellent trails around the 24 hour tract...it is right in the campground. Last year, we did not ride much around the 24 hour tract except at night.

Remember bring your night lights and quarters for the showers.

I'd love to make it up--- someone have a link to the reservation site for the campground?

I've not done a STR ride yet--- is this open to anyone, even newbies here to the tribe?

Probably me, my wife and 3 yr old for a nite. and a couple riding friends?

Humber to Hurky shuttle has one of the worst climbs I can think of...the paved Tahquitz View Road. Two years ago when I was climbing it there was a old compact car that did not have the power to go up it. It is paved because if it wasn't, no two wheel drive cars would make it.
