no thanks are needed, kevin. it's what we do.

while the rest of you are resting on the couch, watching jersey shore, eating trans fats--we're out there on the trail, quietly making life a little better for the rest of the world.

we're the the few, the proud: the VOLUNTEERS. and we're not looking for money, for prestige, nor gel shots. our reward is the smiles on the faces of those who enjoy the fruits of our back-breaking labor (although a free shirt would be sweet).

Excellent work. I'm amazed at some of the trail work I see out there that is done wrong and can cause more harm then good. But you guys obviously know what you're doing. Thanks again for all your efforts.

Prestige...Jim promised prestige ;) Heck - I'm in it for the learning and the fun.

I even talked a few of them into an 'extra credit' hike back to the car :)

Jim, it was great to finally get to meet, and work with you!

I don't know about all the others, but to me, working on the trails is ALMOST as fun as riding them!

    You mean like this?

I was bummed about some damage on the STT on the climb past the flag.. until I saw the 3-4 foot deep rut next to the trail on the last turn-- thats where we diverted water to save the trail. We'll need to keep working on that, but at least its still (mostly) rideable.

Oh, and here's my favorite rock. Have you seen it?

Rode out to Old Camp last night and I am pretty sure I saw that rock. Most of the way was pretty good and just mud in the flat sections where it always puddles. The descent took it nice and slow did not want to hit a stray rock.

Not tarnished, just put to the test.

Believe me, we need the rain. Six months from now, we'll be asking for more.

I know we need the rain but...

What's the consenus on the Luge tomorrow? Was there enough sun today or will it need another day to dry out? I go back to work on Friday and would really like to ride tomorrow bot don't want to be "that guy".

I'd say give it another day, but that's just me.

I'm pretty sure that you won't be the first one to ride it since yesterdays rain. I'm guessing it got ridden today, with all the sunshine we had.

Start up, and if things get nasty, just turn around and head down the way you started. Or keep going, and let everybody know what the outcome is.
