Too bad I never check my Spam Box, Bommer Canyon is having a rare "open access day" in the IRC. Not only a great way to get into LCWP/El Moro but also lots of parking and picnic facilities that would fit an unruly mob of our size. Links here http://www.irvineranchwildlands.org/activities/programs_reserve.asp?typeAct=17&tid=0&aid=2445 Lemme know if anyone wants to do a "D" group.
I twisted my knee on the Luge last night when I slid out and did the splits #-oand now won't be able to lead the "A" ride. I'll still show up and help get things set up if we are to eat, but will someone else lead this group? It doesn't have to be the same route. Thanks
Gene, I could step up here, but you will have to be entrusted with the grill. From what I see :steppie: is leading the ladies ride with the mellowest climb/descent. Craig is leading the Gnarly/Hairy ride with the most HAB/ push-a-Kona style. You were planning on a advanced XC/ race sim with lots of climbs which to me is no fun at all. Not being a beginner nor a racer either I could lead a casual "fun" paced ride around Aliso for everyone else. The Hardcore racer types already know their way around and can run an advanced loop solo after all. The "D" group can run at a social pace, take the pavement up and descend Rock-it, climb Mathis for the hammer heads and drop back down meadows before a leisurely ride back to Milf or the rock for "refreshemnts". Group should be self sufficient and posses some intermediate bike skill but hardcore racer endurance not expected. At the same time there is an easier or harder group if you are looking for more or less of a challenge. I'll be in the Warriors jersey hoping my knees don't fail and just looking for a nice ride in the park. See you all out there.
Rain Possible uh-oh Weather forecast has 30% chance of morning rain Saturday. You may want to check the updated forecast before driving any distance tomorrow. Rain will cancel the event. C
I may be able to help out with this one...I may change the route a bit...but would still be fun with good climbs!! That is....if the rain doesn't cancel the ride#-o
I think you're right, Craig. I'm optimistic but judging from the dark clouds, this event might be touch and go.
DISCO - I might not be able to attend now, but I'm glad you brought up a "D" ride. I was perplexed by the ride choices and am glad to see an in-between to all those rides! I almost expected to ride solo and join the group later. If I come, I will plan to ride with you if you still do the "D" ride.
What?? I only have *LOVE* for you!! xoxoxo Have fun at the Birthday Bash!! I'm gonna miss it this year
Jesse, look at the rsvp list...that should answer your question really quickly. Wait, why is this even a question?
C- just bring some of dat der kids ride mojo o urs mr. Cannot believe the rains helps off for that ride until trucks got packed up:bang:
If it doesn't rain and my hip is up to doing a long ride I could take control of the A group. I might not be the fastest up the hills, but I will get up them. And I'm not sure I can make the whole thing, since I have be able to ride in 3 weeks, but I'm going to try. The route that I was thinking of doing before Gene got hurt was: Cholla -> Rock-It -> Mathis -> Meadows -> Mathis -> Lynx -> MILF Park
Suggestion for Group A Up Cholla to Top of the World over to Disneyland, out to overlook, back to Meadows, down to the main canyon to Driping Cave and back via Coyote to park. If you're feeling frisky we can add in up Mathis and down Lynx...
No Rock-It, and Lynx just a maybe? :?: Doesn't sound like any kind of "A" ride to me. I'd say up Cholla, down Lynx, up Rock-It, Top of the World, down Meadows, Dripping Cave, up Mathis, down Rock-It and back to MILF.
