I've never done Strawberry peak, alway heard how good it was. I was looking to see if anybody is intrested in doing a ride up there on Sunday?

I ride at about a sport level. But I bet this mountain will kick my ass.

Many of us are riding SART on the 18th.

Strawberry Loop is not a tech trail, although it does have extreme exposures that trip some out. There are a couple of good climbs, the first being a 3 mile 1700fter (Josephine Fireroad).

Yeah, I'd be up for that. I'd say it's currently my favorite ride. I might be able to get a few others to tag along. Drop me a PM if you want to chat further. - :welcome:

Per my GPS 15.44 miles and 3336 elevation, if you start at Clear Creek Ranger Station up to Josephine Saddleand and do the Red Box to Switzers downhill. Climbing back out of Switzers after 16 miles is always fun. Sometimes we leave a truck down in Switzers so we don't have that pavement climb at the end.

Here is a Topo Map and a elevation profile. If you guys want a Garmin GPS or National Geopraphic file or better map JPG, PM me.

I do the Strawberry ride a lot, and do like it a lot, but SART is always a nice ride. I'd have to say SART though as I don't get to ride it as much and there are more trails to ride up there.

    Camping near SART?

Yeah, on second thought, I'm considering SART now that I see there's already a group gearing up for it. I've never ridden it and it's gotten some rave reviews on this forum.

If me and my GF are coming all the way from the West side and want to camp out somewhere out there Sat night, is there anything you'd all recommend to put us within 20 mins or so of the the trailhead? Feel free to PM.

Yeah there are two campsites we ride right through or next to. Somebody else help me out with the name. But you can see it from the hwy, and they've got showers. The last 4 or 5 times I've been by there the campground wasn't even close to half full. You shouldn't have problem with a site.

Barton Flats and South Fork Campgrounds are right on or near the SART. Not sure if they are open during the winter.

I did the whole stretch of the 38 last week and I think only Barton Flats is still open.....I was looking for water:lol:
Big Bear is barely 30 minutes away from Angelus Oaks, at least there are options for lodging there.

Well is anyone intrested in Stawberry? If most everybody is doing the SART ride, I might just join that one. I don't know how do a polling on here. I tried to find the link so I could see whos intrested in either.

I haven't done either so there both new to me.
