im thinking of converting my bike to a single speed. once the spacers are on then the cog then the spacers is there anything after the last spacer that goes on to lock everything in or does the frame lock it in at that point? sorry but i just dont know anything about single speeds.

You use the locking cap just like with a cassette.

It looks like the Derailleur hanger actually forms a part of the dropout. Kind of like this.

Yeah, I don't think I can take that part off..

So far I've ridden the Loop twice with this bad boy with no issues. There's just one hill I can't make it up, but I'll probably conquer it tomorrow when I give it another shot. The only issue I'm having with SS is that I hate that I can't really go fast on the straights! I'm used to changing up to the big rings on the straights but now I have to cruise..

Haha, they seem to be working fine. It may look like I'm only using the zip ties to hold it all together but the chain ring bolts are all there secured, the zip ties just keep them from moving around like they did before the zip ties were in place.

I see a taco'd chainring in your future. Maybe in your calf.

I love ghetto zip tie components. I've used zip ties as spacers on my my 9 speed freehub for a single speed. Super ghetto but it held up fine for months until I took it apart to sell.

I *may* have a chairing thing for you. It's huge in diameter (it'll look like you're pushing a really big gear!!) but thin, so it's light.

This is one of the most amusing threads I've read in a while. The pics of the ghetto bike with loose chain and zip ties are priceless. I can't help but check back every few days to see how the build is going. Thanks!
