Great race today, even in the pouring rain.
Although it wasn't the prettiest day of the 3 Crown races, it was the smoothest by far.
It was nice to warm up and race on time for once.
It was nice to race the guys in my own category.(Perfect start order)
Quick results, ceremonies, and even the raffle went well.
Out by 1pm, that's 3 hours faster than the other 2 in the pouring rain with half the racers numbers falling off.
Nice job to all the SR people!
Thanks to Ben for the nice wolf trophy too. I assume he made it or had a student as it's metal. Very Nice!

Still on the fence about going tomorrow. Course was sloppy as hell and it's the same one as last weeks Night Race.

Did anybody Geoladders/GPS the Southridge Triple Crown race today? I miss the race coz of injury but still wanna ride the course. 2011 Winter series I think will still be at southridge fontana. There is a old Geoladders/fontana on the web. I so that one already. Hope someone manage to have it on GPS Racer.

This is your Southridge Fontana race today? Nice work. Compared it with another racer around 3-2010 GPS, its almost identical with only 1/4mile changes somewhere at the top of the mountain near the DH race starts. I went there last week to see how the course looks like, the downhill from the top was pretty scary. It look like the that course was intended for DH racers. I said to myself, I should be wearing DH gear for a XC race. Going down the hill 30% riding, 70% walking coz I have a shoulder injury from a previews crash. Anyway, Was it 4.5 miles per lap? Your record says 9.1 (2 Laps). I thought Cat3 is 12miles. Thanks!!!

awesome day out, even in the rain. never raced in rain like that. course was tacky and fast, although some of the steeper climbs turned to hike-a-bike. great way to end the season.

    any pictures? bib#727N

    see ya next year!

Crickets? The evening after a Fontana race usually results in scores of posts and tales of the weekend's activities. Where are the photos? The stories? Did everyone do what I did and avoid the (DH) race due to weather? I bought some tear offs today, so I'll be more prepared for the next rain day.

I rode at the practice on Saturday, didn't go to the race on Sunday. Course and conditions were too nasty.

the DH course was waaaaaaaay better today than yesterday. Yesterday was muddy/gooshy/slippery; today was tacky and nice.

Crap. I was hoping to hear it was even worse and it's a good thing I didn't make the trip. Oh well, I'm glad the conditions improved for racing. How did you do?

Woke up sunday morning to sunny skies and got really excited for the day, got half way to fontana and it started poring, got there and sat in the truck for 2 hours waiting for the rain to die out, and went up for a run expecting the worst, but to my surprise the track was in amazing condition a few line changes and it was alot of fun, froze my rear end off before my race put down a solid run and got my first podium ever, so all in all not sure id put up with it again but im happy with the results, anyone know if there are pics, of DH awards?

Practice Sat - Super fun mud runs until about 2:30, then it got really slippery everywhere corners, straight a ways, the g-outs even the drop so we decided to call it a day.

Sunday - hid in the camper until time to line up for race run, figured couldn't be any worse than it's worst on Sat. Pleasantly surprised by the tacky dirt - my rear end slid out one time just before the drop manged to just dab and finish my race run clean. Race run was 26 seconds faster than my night race run. Much easier to pedal the wall when you can see!

Great way to end the season! Hope to see everyone out there for the winter series 2011!

Did 2 practice runs on Saturday and the 2nd one was in the pouring rain. Course got really slippery and the water was flowing pretty good. Sunday morning there was more rain and then it quit about 9am. Dirt was perfect, got 1 practice run in and then got ready to race. Had a good race run, dabbed on one section that gave me trouble in practice and the rest was fun. Kinda of slow going due to the dirt being so soft in spots and the wind gusts. No one else in my class decided to show up so the Overall is mine!!!!! Looking forward to next year.

This was my first DH race ever.
I had a lot of fun and met some really nice people.
I will definitely do it again.
