    Hi folks,

Not sure who organized the last swap meet, but I'd love to be able to set up and sell again. Any one interested?

    Mixed Feelings

    On the one hand:
Could NOT believe how many sellers showed-up to the last event!

    On the other hand:
I was less than impressed with the number of buyers!!!
People were LITERALLY giving things away- couldn't find anyone to take them!
Prices were stupid low... One guy couldn't GIVE a bike away

Take a look at the STR calendar...
As long as a dozen events aren't planned for the same day, turnout should be high!
    No perfect day!

    Interested.

Set a date, announce it, and promote it!!

Don't worry about picking a date that's good for everyone, because it's not going to happen.

One date you want to avoid is Sat, Apr 10. STR camp out at Hurkey Creek and Rwanda Ride. Both events are heavily attended by STR.

I sold enough items to make it worthwhile. My friend was happy selling all he brought. I had a few items I was giving away, but nobody asked the price. Since the classifieds on STR are now dead as far as I'm concerned, I'll pass on the deals in person instead.

I still have my box of items for sale ready to go.

    My point exactly...Pick ANY date.

That event may reduce the number of sellers (i.e., competition), but of all the Fully Loop sales there have been, most of my sales have been to non-STR members who happen to be in the parking lot.

Ya, but many of us would like to buy or sell as well and like many, I don't live near there and wouldn't mind checking out what's available, but it doesn't matter that much to me if I don't make it to this one.

I have a load of stuff to get rid of as well. As long as it's not in the next three weekends, and on a Sunday, count me there.

    1. Did you ask others how well they did?

    2. Is it possible one of the reasons you sold "tons" of stuff was due to the fact your husbands works for... Never mind!

    1. Yes I did, the people I spoke to did well also, Although one person felt maybe he was in a bad location that didn't seem to get much traffic, so he didn't sell much.

2.The stuff we Sold were our own personal items from our garage! (Surly 1x1, used cranks, used wheelset, pedals.... I could go on and on) not sure why where he works would matter ???

I couldn't stay last time, but had plenty of things to sell and still do.

Just pick a day, have yet to ride da Loop as well.

    I vote for Sunday.

No races or other events this weekend.

Next week is Hurkey/Los Olivos/Rwanda the week after is Sea Otter and the week after that is Woodward.
