Once again specialized jacks me. I was going to buy an M2 back in 1990, but the guy in the shop told me it was closing time and he couldnt help me. i had cash in my pocket. so i bought a trek and R&R.
I just bought my 6 inch wonder(no pun) and really wanted the Enduro SL, but i dont like the dual crown. so they come out with what i wanted as soon as i bought my new ride.
Evil choc, did you get a new bike yet? I'm still looking for the dirt bag that took it. If only we could find him, tie him to the back of a bike and then use his body to smooth out the trails up at mammoth. the joy.

I wish I had your problems.

I'm trying to trim the LBs (on the bike and me), but I don't know if I'd notice a 3lb difference.

Well, I know I noticed the difference between my 33 pound Reign and my 29 pound 575.

Agreed, I just went from a 5" bike to a Nomad (6.5") and while the Nomad is about 1.5 lbs heavier and might be a hair slower when climbing, it waaayy better at riding tech stuff, both climbing and decending. Its a jack of all trades, but master of none.

I with you here... i notice more of a difference in bike weights than the the extra pounds i'm carrying around my gut.

    You're WAY behind the curve!

Get you a Niner Air 9 SS mang. In Tang, preferrably.

I'm not in the industry or anything, but I've known about the Pitch since mebbe August? It wasn't really a secret!

Those are two distinct bikes with different geometry, specs, components...

I noticed a big difference going from the Stumpy to the Enduro, but it wasn't pain when climbing. It felt like I was riding a great bike.

Thing is, i don't race (though i might try to XC-race my Joker sometime, just for sh-ts and giggles), and i still get up the same hills and put in the same miles i did when i had a 25-pound SC Superlight. I just have a lot more fun on the downhills now. Honestly, unless you're racing quite a bit, i think shaving grams or trying to get your bike under some arbitrary weight limit is kinda silly. The one exception, i believe, is wheels and tires. Significantly cutting weight there can really help performance.

Same for me! :) I never have to worry about shaving ounces from this or that, because I weight so much anyway (and I'm so slow) that it just doesn't matter. :)

    Big dudes rule! :bang::beer:

Ah, so you ended up getting the Nomad after all, eh? Did you go with the Lyrik for your new ride? I'm loving the one you sold me.

Haha, yep I did, found a good deal on a used frame locally. I was kicking myself cause I bought the same fork I sold you, except new and about $150 more. #-oOh well, so far I am diggin that fork too, super plush and I am glad to hear it is working out well for you too.

Did they swap out the cartridge for an 08 item?? I'm interested in getting mine to its potential rather than borrowing someones Fox equipped rig and thinking how plush it is.

You know I'm not sure if I have a new 07 or 08 cartridge in there. It is definitely more plush than when I first got the bike new in May though.

I developed a real bad problem with air pressure dropping in the fork (from 120 down to 70 PSI in a single ride), so it was replaced under warranty. No problems with the shock yet (knock-on-wood).

If are having problems you should have it changed out! What Enduro SL model do you have?

I'm getting one of the two specialized bikes, I think. I had a chance to ride the enduro sl and it was a better climber than my Kona w/lock out!!! It was in a whole different league when you pointed it dh. I like it and am working towards it. Anyone want to buy a gently used Kona Dawg Primo 04??? The sl climbed like a madman and I felt fresh at the end of the climb.

Lor: Todd mentioned something last week about Gooseberry this spring. We doing this? If so, sounds like the Enduro would be the perfect weapon.

ODB, If I can, I'm in. It was so much fun riding there this past summer, just to dang hot. I waited until evening until it was a cool 102 degrees. Mechman gave me directions to Goosebury and I also rode the Guacamole trail in Virgin. Flying monkey etc.. bring it on. Talking tough right now. Enduro or Pitch whatever I can ride it will be fun!!

    Seems really good

I've been waiting for this model to take off.

The shop guys say great things about the ride quality.

The price, travel, weight, ride quality combo is pretty untouchable IMO.

It is set up w/ uninterupted cable housing, so contamination is not an issue. Not my fav routing, but has it's advantages..

    Sick geo.

Sorry but the profile shot of that "Pitch" produces a vomitous taste in my nose. That downtube is not pretty. Looks like a dude with his gut hanging over his belt. It's like Gatorade putting out another new flavor you don't need.
