XC race starts at 9:30, but they stagger it. I'll probably be coming in for my second lap around 10:30 (I HOPE).

Nope. Justin is out of town until probably 6pm or later tonight, so we haven't even packed and gotten ready for tomorrow yet. #-o

Well you were right the old Cal State course on the right of the fireroad going down then straight through the lower rock garden. Here's a few pics. That first rock section where we sat that one day they reroute you to the right of that rock (see pic) and also above there where someone recently added that lil dirt jump on the right the tape leads you over it.

That rock to the right was the one you used to jump off not included in the course:

    Thank you sharky.

I'm really bummed. I was looking forward to technical, fun course. From the pictures brandon posted, I think the XC course is going to be more tech. This course is a pure drag race (emphasis on a real drag). I think I'll bring my 4x hardtail out to play tomorrow, but I have doubts that I will race on Sunday. Sorry for my negative attitude, but although I don't know the actual course yet, I don't remember any fun stuff over there.

Thanks for taking the shots. Great to see what were in for before even getting to practice. Is it me or is the line through the rock garden a little more smooth? I know pictures rarely capture how hairy something is.

i agree, the xc course is more technical than the dh... theres only that one little rock section of the picture sharky posted... and its fun going through it but 5 seconds later when your through it, you return to pedaling... if your not in pedaling for 2 minutes shape, dont enter it

    its very smooth and fast

there are some biggger rocks you have to drop, but the landings are flat and smooth. just maintain one speed through the garden and you'll be fast and smooth
