I'm sure gonna try to make it down. Hopefully I'll see you all there.

    What is Super D anyway?

I stole this from a past thread hope it helps. There are no class seperations so you all race together. (I'm guessing normally around a dozen riders have been racing it) Jason most always races Super D as well as DH (and xc...and 4X).Damn he's busy out there!! #-oOh yeah...and he designed one of the Super D courses used last winter series....ok enough!!

"Super D was originally intended to be "old school DH". In the time before monster travel, or suspension that worked really well, DH consisted of bombing fire roads, with an occasional short climb to link to a nice singletrack. I think over the last few years, after initially introducing Super D, promoters have been fine tuning it. From what I have found, each promoter has their own personal preference, or take, on what a course should be.
Fontana's courses are generally very short, in comparison to others I have done. The guy who almost always wins out there used to set up the courses, and they tended to have an = mix of climbing and DH. This year, however; Donny, who is the promoter, has been setting up the courses, and they're leaning towards a DH run.
Yesterday's course was really fast, I chose to do it on my 5" travel bike, with pro-pedal fully engaged. My brother did it on his 6" travel bike, no pro-pedal, we were within 3 seconds of each other, and we are pretty much the same speed. The course yesterday went down the Beg/Sport DH course, with some different things to add two very short climbs to it.
Hope all this rambling was useful, I tend to get very excited when new people want to check out racing.:bang:"

Don't think I'll be trying that out quite yet. I would need to get back into the swing of things again before trying that or DH.

There will be plenty of spectators on the lower rock section, and the upper sections as well.

Just pick a spot and hang out and cheer!

There will be a whole herd of us there to watch just come by the Incycle tent. First timers bring the beer:wave:...j/k. My nephew Brian will also be racing DH .

You can find me on the gnarliest section cause I'm a vulture for carnage.
Carnage is sexy !! Except when they go away by ambulance. :-s

Ahhhh race or not I'm having a blast !! That's all that matters to me :). Is anyone free to do the XC course tomorrow after 2. I'm without my xc bike while Dr. Dirty is wrenchin' on it but have my nephew's Giant STP (ss hardtail) for only one day to play on so was hoping someone could show Brandon the xc course while I'm playing at the 4X area. He's racing both xc and DH and should pre-ride the course. I'm thinking I should borrow the Giant for the jump clinic instead of using my 7.7 so wanted to try it out. If no one can make it I'll do the xc course instead.
