some of the best tractor drivers in socal are already employed by SS. also it appears that most jobs will be passed to winter employees who live here full time and wish to work in the summer too. no news of any specific summer hiring so far.

Weight limit has officially changed per snow summits website.

" We request that you try adhering to the following specs:

    1. Bikes must be less than 45 lbs.

    "
    http://www.bigbearmountainresorts.com/summer/summer-activities/mountain-biking/

**Snow Summit transports (Cross-Country and All-Mountain) mountain bikes on the Sky Chair during the summer months with access off-site to Forest Service trails and roads.**

Also all day lift tickets are now

$32 for adult and $20 for a child.

I've heard the summer season pass for bikes will be 299 but that has not been confirmed as of yet. At least I haven't been able to confirm it.

32 to ride just the forrest service trails NO thanks.

299 for summer only pass to ride the Forrest service trails no thanks.

Last year I paid less then that for my pass and it worked for the Winter midweek too.

If there was a real bike part that would be one thing.

I believe the cost is to ride up the chairlift, not to just ride the trails. You can still ride or shuttle your bike up without paying.

Ummm, forest service and ski area boundaries are enforced in winter because there is no maintenance, ski patrol or avalanche protection in those areas, and consequently, no good way to retrieve an injured or lost skier/boarder. Witness the two guys who got buried out of bounds at Mt. High about three years ago. Not an issue in summer. I believe summer lift tickets at SS will be for lift rides, not a trail access pass or for trail access restriction.

Well yes, but they are trying to make prices more like a place with a bike park, but they don't.

Lets trade shoulders and lets talk.

Although I shouldn't expect much less from you.

Virtually none of his posts can meet those rules.

dont know where to start here. great dont come here then. your crappy city attitude isnt welcome here anyway. :)
second. it will be for the existing trails and the new trails they are building. if you cant afford the 7$ more than last year i dont think you are their target demographic then anyway. do you guys think the stuff they are gonna do and build will be free or the same price? that ridiculous imo! everything they are talking about requires capital and revenue. be patient, it will be so worth the money when its done. it might not be worth it at first, but it eventually will and will be the best place in socal to ride.

    I think Mark is misunderstood

    Wait!!!
I think Marks post is being misunderstood - So far their website says nothing about new trails, so he is complaining about riding the same ole stuff we've ridden for years at a new price, that btw - you and I both know we (not SS) personally have maintained up to this point. I consider myself a local, I don't live full time in BB but I do own a personal residence, pay property taxes to maintain the city, have my boat docked at Pine Knot and live in BB when my child is out of school - We are season pass holders as we also play on the snow - the added perk of riding the lift in the summer was just another reason to rationalize paying the $$ to buy the pass.

Please let's not get into the "down the hillers" mentality as Big Bear needs them to bring in more $$ for our city to thrive. The "we don't need you attitude" has turned many folks from spending their $ up in BB and choosing to spend it in other California resorts.

We are all speculating as to exactly what Summit will give us until we actually see it come..Let's all just try to get along as we all want the same thing :)

    they do mention it.
"Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are now closed for the 2012/13 ski and snowboard season, however summer activities are right around the corner! In addition to the Sky Chair and Golf Course, we have some exciting changes in store including new purpose-built bike trails and a 1,050 foot zipline."
i agree, that might have been harsh but i get tired of the the F*** SS rumblings.
