I'll bet Stone would be a little more flexible if they knew how many people would be coming by...

Bottles of beer may not be allowed, but red plastic cups with unnamed liquid in them may be acceptable. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. ;)

Most of the newbs have done Black Star to Beek's, Santiago Oaks, Tijeras Creek/Oneill, Whiting, Chino Hills. None are really "newbie" friendly. It's more the pace that makes it hard or easy. Believe me, I've been on rides that made me feel like a newb. The newbs have made huge strides to get better, I think they can handle it.

I would like a variation like we had at the O'neill ride and at the Chino Hills ride to keep the others from waiting too long like they did on the Whiting ride.

Plus, it's tough to schedule all these newbie rides in the middle of these races and training rides we have. Combining the 2 just makes it easier for those who would love to meet and celebrate with the SD folks. No better reason than presenting a new ride to Mark. We all want to be there for that.

Yes to both. New to the site and new to the sport.

There is the undercover beer cup idea, or they've got group camping available...you could pay for the sites but not spend the nite...but check-in is 2PM & checkout at noon..doesn't work out so great for a ~two hour ride that starts at 9:30. Unless the campsites were bought for Sat & Sun nites both...but $20 a nite.... Parking at campsites is limited, but we've got bikes...

Well, can the date be changed?...following the ride with Stone Brewery just seems right.

    FYI, grasshoppers

They didn't allow beer in O'Neil at the Newbie ride... and that didn't seem to stop consumption... I'm sure the same would hold true for Daily Ranch .. as long as nobody is taking off their clothes and running amuck, (this is NOT the Fullerton Loop), the BBQ with covered beer would probably work out fine.

Way to go Mark putting STR on the map. What a crappy way to do it though. I would rather not see you on the web for this reason. I do like the "San Diego Chapter" line. w00t! w00t! :bang:

Hmmm, so who leads this so called San Diego chapter? :-k

    I would nominate PacMan. :bang:

BTW, this is absolutely incredible! Adrenaline and STR both deserve as much publicity as possible for this. You are all amazing people.

I should consider changing my legal name to Mark Sladnas, though I doubt my wife would even want to hyphenate that :)
