Sladnas Firestorm/SD Newbie Ride

Just a heads up

Last time I went there (maybe a month ago), the construction to the right of the entrance distracted me and I missed the sign. I almost ended up in Valley Ctr or something.

 

I noted below that the sign has been moved back from the road due to the construction.

Turn left when you start seeing the construction arrows, before the bend in the road.

 

What's the rule of thumb for Daley Ranch if it rains Friday or Sat? I know rain is less than 50%, but what happens if it does rain? Will the park be open on Sunday or is this in Nat'l forest and it stays open?

We're in. I just didn't know if I had to work Sat. or Sun. before I RSVP'd.

 

OK, being at work today is killing my back, especially after straining it last night. I really want to ride with everyone, so what I think I'll do is head out with the group and just turn back if I need to.

Its so dry down here I doubt it will make a difference. It has been a little cool so there might be some mud in the shadows but it won't be a problem.

 

Last time I rode there, it was damp. They don't shut down just for a little rain.

 

Take it easy man. Last thing you need is to be out for months instead of weeks...looking forward to riding with you again though

 

Plus, Daley does really good after it rains. I have never seen the Rangers keep it closed after a rain either. I wouldn't worry.

 

We rode it once last year when it was pretty wet. We didn't know at the time what it was going to be like. It got kinda mushy, but was still open all year (AFAIK).

They've even basically taken away the chance of rain here in Temecula. So, not sure Esco will get anything either.

 

Holy traffic jam batman!! Get there early if you want a place to park!! Heeheehee... with almost 60 of us there, ye ol' parking lot will fill up fast!! :clap:

Anybody want to carpool up from Eastlake/Chula Vista/Bonita just give me a shout. I have room for three more in the truck.

Will anyone have any STR swag? Stickers, t-shirts, jerseys, thongs, etc.

remember, some people like myself are also bringing others not part of the forum for the ride. this could be 75 people if a few people bring a friend.

Can we have an STR mosh pit after the ride?

 

I might be interested if it doesn't work out with the 4 more that are coming with me, also I'm not planning on hanging out that long after the ride, only for a little while. Thanks for the offer and will let you know.

Hey guys, not sure what George has left for STR inventory.

I think there are some stickers floating around and I'm sure the Mayor (Dino Brown) will bring some if he has got em.

 

Don't tell me that George is going to miss a marketing blitz opportunity like this? I guess there really isn't any love for SD. I guess that's why he hasn't RSVP'ed for the ride.
