    Thanks Gene,

It was a tough weekend for me. I only got to ride Santiago Oaks (a quick loop) and a road ride. Seeing all the photos of this ride and the Christmas tree ride were brutal.

Man, I wonder if anyone got good pics of the few mud bogs we went through. Here's a shot of my bike AFTER I knocked the big chunks of mud off. My front brake caliper looks like it is chocolate covered. I've got some cleaning to do tonight!

at one point I almost did a face plant in 6" deep mud. Linda got stuck in the mud in front of me, so I had to stop quickly. When I put my foot down, it sank and I was loosing my balance as I tipped to the right. I had to put my hand down into the bog to keep from going in face first. The mud was over my wrist before I got out. I love mud!

Does someone know a reputable wrench near her? Julia's fd cable housing blew up, and she might need some air in her rear shock.

I was right before you in the mud pit; I almost ate it too! That stuff was thick.

Yeah, I follow the same rule, but I'll break it for some exceptions.

Steph, you were the highliight of the riding part out there. I love to see riders with speed and entusiasm like yours. I lost count how many times you zoomed by us. You rock, girl!

    Thanks!

Julia's bike is at The Path being repaired. They asked me when does she need the bike back. I said if you ask her she will say today. I can't believe they will have it ready tomorrow.

They mentioned a few things wrong with the bike.

    I just pay the bill.

Sydeti - We can make Fully a 3 hour ride (just joking) I think Crystal Cove is worth your drive. It's got some nice views and good climbs (I can't believe I just said that) hope to see you soon.

I made the trip to Fully back in July for a Thursday night ride. Well, I drove to Jeff Sims' casa and hitched a ride with him up there. That was definitley a fun ride--and worth the drive too, IMHO--at least once.

    Thank you...that is very sweet.

I was just feeding off everyone else's energy and the whole vibe was awesome.

I am also so stoked to be riding my bike again after taking a long time off :)

Put me down for Crystal Cove in the near future (exactly where is it?)

Climbing is hard but it feels so good when you make it to the top!

It was great to finally put a face to your name. I enjoyed hanging out on the ride and shootin' the breeze. :)

After climbing Cardiac, the groups were all together, A, B, & C. Those were the just the ones that rode off first.

Steph, Crystal Cove is near Newport and Laguna beaches, not far from Aliso. Let me know when you, Dan or any of the SD folks want to ride El Morro which is part of Crystal Cove State Park. The usual thing to do is go into Laguna Coast Wilderness Park(LCWP) and combine the 2 parks for a great ride with climbs and descents both on fireroads and single tracks. You can even do the 3 park combo. #-o

Me too it was just before Burnt Mtn. That was a lose , lose situation. I thought well I don't want to make the trail any wider so I went for the middle. Sunk almost down to my hub per Spec-Ed who then stop and walked around it carrying his bike. (bastard) My drive train was screwed and my calipers where plugged up. I was still spitting dirt even after banging down Burnt Mtn. It was fun except for my chain ceasing up on the crest of a few climbs afterwards. Mud is some nasty stuff...

It was so much fun especially all the climbs, its Painful, but yes, Doable and it really feels like i did something, shake my head while pushing my bike. Pure Fun!! And its the pain that makes the ride memorable. Thanks for suggesting Daley Ranch.

looks like everyone had a great time!

    those pics are boss.

i showed up around 8:15, and my bro and his lady were with me.

they got impatient a bit, so we rode out at like 8:30- kinda bummed i didnt get to meet anyone, but i passed by some str people (i believe), and it gives me a good feeling to see those pics and the good times had by all.

No problem. Trust me though--it's lots easier when it's a little drier. The usual lap time for that loop is around 1:45 and that's not really pushing too hard. My record is 1:28, but of course my lungs were on the outside of my body by the time I finished.

I finished the rest of the pictures and have posted them on the Daley Ranch Page on my site. Here are a couple more here but there are quite a few more on the page.
