BMX Shorts at the BMX track? Yes!

    I heard that this was coming. I understand NBL already allows shorts. What's ironic, I think, is that the level of protection they require is significantly higher than simply requiring pants, where many guys wear Dickies or other very thin pants.

    This is also good for all the mountain bikers, since this is gear they already have. :clap:

    so do dickies fall under this category? where does there need to be doubled up material? I'd be pretty stoked to be able to wear shorts to the BMX track when it gets warmer.

    my 1st choice has always been moto-style riding pants. 2nd choice (and Lee is right as usual about the level of protection) is shorts and knee/shin armor, with denim jeans coming in third.

    I believe the "doubled up" requirement is in regards to the pinch test to determine what is "loose fitting."

    I'm pretty sure this was written into the rules to keep Hugh from showing up in his lycra.

    cool. now it makes sense. and a good thing too. I know I can live without hugh rocking the lycra at the track :lol:

    Bellflower and Simi have always let me wear short with shin guards. Of course I always bring pants just in case.

    cool, but I dont think its is going to help out over summer when we need it, dickies are cooler then wearing shorts and shin/knees
