    FYI,

The XC Course has dried out considerably and many of the sandy spots are back. Someone has placed some wood planks over the chainlink fence crossing and in the deep sandpit, not sure how helpful they actually are!!!

I'm sure there will be one hike a bike for most of us up a sand part, and typically on the flats if you've got big wheels you are good to go!!

I did a couple laps there yesterday and the course is in killer condition at the moment, the sand is still in the cement phase from the rain.
The wood planks were a bit slippery but over all the course was pretty smooth and fast.
On a side note I witnessed some young lovers making out in the parking get caught by the 5-0, that was funny and I only startled 1 homeless person with a shopping cart- not that there is anything wrong with that and who am I to judge- as I went thru the junkyard section of the XC course...that surprised the hell out of the both of us!
    See you on Saturday:bang:

Neil is going to kick ass on the rigid beach cruiser!!!
I wouldn't even be able to handle one lap around that place... I'm too weak for XC.#-o

I'm hoping to race 4X next time though, depending on whether or not uncle Sam wants to cut me a break so I can get another bike! too many bikes for me? I think not!!!!

Thanks Gary but I think the bigger wheels might be the way to go thru all that sand...now when my secret project gets here then the cruiser is in full effect!!:bang:

on vacation checking in on here...

anywho, why don't they fix/mess with that area of sand by the chain link fence? a few of us did a couple laps there tuesday and it was as usual a momentum killer, but those wood planks helped a bit if you managed to get on them right away

What do you propose to fix it? Even if they cart the sand out (not really feasible, probably) I'm sure more will accumulate.

Think of it like a creek crossing. You gotta get through it somehow

I don't know what the sand looks like, but how about pouring a few bags of Quickcrete or portland cement in there, mix it in with a hoe, then spray it down with some water? It could be a cheap and easy solution.
