But...but...if you don't race then who's gonna strike-a-pose during and after the race in cool breezy racing atires? This could be a problem!

I still don't understand how you and Allison manage to smile in every single picture during a race. I guess that means you're truly having fun. Good for anyone who can keep a smile on their face while being in excruciating amount of pain.

Do you guys know how the point system works? It looks like you have to pay $40 to be elgible. If so is it to late to join up? And if I pay up at the next race do my previous results count? My last question. After the first race I moved up to Expert Class from Sport. If I race Expert is the Sport results thrown out? I have never had to think about having a chance to win a race, much less a series.

I will most likely be there no matter the answers. Thanks

I am *guessing* here (email or call Donny for specifics):

You get points for each placing. 100 points for the win, minus five for each subsequent place. You can sign up at any time. I would imagine your previous results will count if you pay up.

If you changed classes, I don't think the first result in a different class would count. But, you get one throw out. So if you race 4 races in Expert then it's fine I'd think.

When I'm on the fence about races like this I picture myself sitting here looking at all the pictures and reading all the congrats and good will and wishing I would have raced!

I know what you mean, after not really knowing what to expect, I raced for the very first time last weekend. I ended up getting 5th (out of 9) in XC Beginner Class (35-44).....I even got an award (1st to 5th get trophies)

You should take the plunge and come on out for the next one......although racing XC really hurts, it is also lots of fun...you would be amazed what you can do when the adrenaline is running and you don't want the guy behind you to pass you!

Please explain. Like a pros/expert course and a sport/beginner separate course?

Not a completely separate course, but one or two sections will have a split for pro/expert and sport/beginner classes.

It makes practice a little more important. You don't want to take the wrong course in your race run.#-o  Take a look at the tiny writing on the arrow signs in Winston's pic below. Not easy to read at race pace.

    Close.

Same start and finish, just the sport/beginners have 1 or 2 bypasses to get around the tech stuff.

For the actual race run, they normally tape off the side not being raced so that doesn't happen. Practice gets interesting where the courses connect back together. You definitely have to check for cross traffic!!! ;)

What? C'mon give the Socom a try in XC!!:lol:

This'll be my last race until March so I'm looking forward to it and then a month of 'training' so I can tear it up in March. :bang::bang:
