    XC Women's Class

Not too many women lined up in the Sport Class 35+...so as a result, I got 2nd place, though my time for 3 laps was waaaayyyy off the back of the woman who finished ahead of me!

Had a great time out there, looking forward to the next race!

BTW, I was in the STR Dirty Girlz jersey, number 609T.

yep, got first and last. only one in men 27-34 sport. someone else really needs to show up. they started me with the groups infront and behind, which was nice as it provided me with some hard compitition. one guy in the 19-27 and 2 guys in the 35-42 ages gave me a good run. for a time i was behind all of them. some how managed to get past them by the end of the 3rd lap. feeling pretty wasted today.

congrat to all. oh, and that new section was kinda sh!ty, but i bet it will get better.

congrats boing, expect to see you up there next time!:)

went out to southridge on friday and fell in the lower rock garden and got a concussion and broken pinkie

yesterday was a better practice day

    BUT today sucked
did 4 practice runs before the race and didnt do one clean run
last run before my race a little mettle piece that holds my front wheel on somehow broke off so I had race with 3 zip ties holding on the right side of my front axle on =0

    SO race time
I start my run and then slide out up top, then I forked my front tire into the rock in the lower rock garden and face planted pretty good haha

    sucks:?:

    More DH pics!

Just a few DH pics from Sunday! I think you can down load them from Flickr. If not, and you see one you like, P.M. me your e-mail address and which pics you want and I'll get it to you.
My 16 year old had a good run going but went down hard in the last rock garden section. Ouch! ended up 23rd.
My 10 year old also had a great run and ended up 1st. He's having a great time hanging out with his new friends Nik and Noah, from 661, who are now racing in his class! Thanks again to Bobbi & Dar from 661 for making sure Jason Jr. got on the shuttle on time!

    Enjoy!

Looks like some of the pics on page 3,4&5 are from other outings. I'm still trying to figure out this Flickr thing!

    My DH RR

    Saturday:
Got to practice for a couple of hours and did 4 runs with a couple of sections that i session'd. Felt decent with all my practice runs except for a couple of spots...the uphill after the saddle and "The Wall"#-o.
    Sunday:
Got to Tucky and waited in the long practice line and was able to get one practice run in. Felt good and couldn't wait to race. Since i moved up in class (27-34 Sport) i knew how many faster guys there were in this group and had my work cut out for me.
    Race run:
I felt i did decent through the course except for the dirt being a bit loose compared to saturday and sunday practice and until i got to "The Wall":(. I dropped 2 gears to pedal through the wall but then ended up on my seat after the first corner. I then got up and tried to pedal and my lags gave out:?:...so I sat back down and shifted back up to 2 gears. Even at the easier gear i still couldn't pedal. I coasted til i got to the announcer and knew i had blown my race run. Got to the end and have never felt my legs being this tired.

I ended up 2nd to last...but had fun either way:bang:. Got some beers and went back up to cheer for some buds in my old class (27-34 Beg):drunk:

Goes to show how 4 weeks off the bike, being on vacation with no activity, and stepping up a class will do to you. Atleast it will be easy to improve from 2nd to last :?:.

If anyone has pictures...i would greatly appreciate it.
    487N
and my team mates 486N and 490N
We were the guys in the red baseball jerseys (Team Downhill Bastards)

    See everyone in 2 weeks!!!

DH- This is my 4th race with SRC, well my 4th race ever! But i have to say this was an amazing course, i would have prefered to not pedal up the saddle but it was a great course, the dirt was in the best shape it has ever been out there. Great race, good times, and i even got my first podium!

    my race review.

so saturday, i went to southridge thinking the course was going to be scary hard, and freaky tough. i ended up feeling great, and felt super fast and smooth on the whole course all day saturday...
today, i did 3 runs. the first one felt great, and the second and third.. not so great.

so, by the time my race run came, there had been a breeze starting up, so i got out of the gate before the fontana wind started up on the hill.
i went into my race run feeling great, and i did great on the first half. on the new section don made, the S-turns before the saddle, i came unclipped, and rode down that with one foot...
then, after talking for 30 minutes about my line to DIno before my run, i missed my line, and went too far right, and ALMOST endo'd, but saved it and continued on great.
had a few more bobbles, and then i saw the rider in front of me.
i sat down until the lower rock garden, then totally blasted through the rock garden, and caught the rider on the wall :bang:
i ended up with a first place, and me and nancy shook on it, that if i get to keep my points, i am moving to sport for the rest of the season, where i would have finished 9th place .

had a great day, hope everyone's was equally awesome

    Denmo's DH Race Report

Another awesome day at Fontana has come and gone. Great conditions this morning, cold, cloudy and tacky dirt. Unfortunately, it dried out by race time so I was a little more cautious than during practice as I did not want a repeat of 3 weeks ago where I slid out in a sandy corner. I knew I had my work cut out for me when I checked the see list and there were 7 women entered in the Open Women DH class!!! 5 of the 7 were under 35 and Laura and I were the over 35 group. I ended up with 4th which was a solid placing for me. Roger ended up with 1st and had a good run.

Congratulations to all you came out and raced!!! See you in 2 weeks!!!

I will post the podium pics soon!
