let me sum up my race today...about 10 seconds in(first turn) I went to shift and the rear derailuer(sp?) cable came out of the nitch.....blah blah blah... with the rapid rise I was stuck in the highest cog and could do nothing but spin like an idiot and finished DFL... Oh well... see you all in two weeks....

While that truly sucks it must be said that you really handled that really well with your s**t happens attitude. You set the bar for how one responds to adversity today and reminded me that we have to have a sense of humor.

Speaking of humor. Who wore the Batman cape today??

Little bike says all is bueno. No flake or groms. Too much perceived rain.

Today it was beautiful. I almost didn't go. I did horrible but it was still fun.
Once again I didn't know the course I went up on the last practice shuttle up. Rolled down the first couple of turns then walked back up to redo that section when I pulled off because my bike was ghost shifting and my rear brake wasn't working. I thought I would work on it and do it again I was kicked off the course. I never got to really practice. I am done with that I am going to be out there Friday and Saturday if possible. It's a waste of time for me to go and be clueless. Aside from all that I still had a great time I'm just not happy with my run. I was happy to see our STR family do amazing. Even if I didn't get to ride/race it was worth it to be up on the starting area to cheer for our rider as they pass by. I yelled right in some guys ear when Andy (Rut) went by I think I scared him. We where blessed with perfect weather.
I think the Path crew rocked Fontana once again.
The Incycle team kicked some butt too.
    See you all next time.

I will be looking for pictures from our great STR photographers.

I had a good run on the top section but that damn wall got me again. I had nothing left to be able to stand and pedal, meanwhile I could feel Andy gaining time on me the whole way down the wall. Finished 17th DFL but had a great time out there.

    Southridge Report

I decided to go ahead and give a try at some good ol' cross country Saturday at the Fontana race. I did two laps and actually placed pretty well. My major lesson learned is I can do the distance, but I need to actually start training on the hill climbs. I watched on every hill (at least for the first lap) one guy take off from me. It was really disheartening for me. That used to be my strong point. I still enjoyed the race just found what I need to do to place better next time. :bang:

After the xc race I entered the Super D. I raced expert this time. This race was a BEAST. Essentially we climbed the dirt fireroad that parellels the DH course. For me it was an all out hike-a-bike. Nothing like looking up the hill and seeing 5 other racers all walking too... not to mention looking back down the hill to see the same thing. Oh my legs were on FIRE!! Well this time I really enjoyed the event (apparently I love pain) and I can't wait to do it again.

Sunday came all too early. Luckily Allison called (and got me out of bed.) Thanks
I raced sport DH and had a blast yet again. If I could only learn how to lean my bike, I think I could move up a catagory. #-o Well maybe not. Who knows.

What I came away with this weekend was new and better friendships. The Path guys and gals all rocked and looked to be having a splendid time. The InCycle guys were as jovial as ever. FoesNasty had equipment failure right at the start of the DH and still came across the finish line with a smile. Thanks to Denmother, Roger, Allison, Justin and Dan for taking me under your wing and EZ Up. A special thanks to Stephany for goggles! Who knew being able to see would help on a DH course!!! You all rock!!!
I think the Mann's walked away with 4 first place trophies! 4 out of 4.... not bad at all!

You can add me to that list. 211F
When I got to the bottom I thought "Damn, that was an okay run. Should put me in the top 5." Then I started thinking about my run turn for turn, and realized I blew out almost major corner. Oh well :-({|=, still the best track and conditions I've ever raced at Fontucky, and had a great time doing it.
Weakness = corners, strong point = rocks. I hope next race the run us down the waterfall. \\:D/

We will have to arrange a meeting with Heather. :)

Fantastic pics from team Heather/Orven! :bang:

EDIT/PS: I got a couple shots of you in practice Saturday. I should have them posted tonight. You looked like you knew what your were doing in the upper half of your race run. Nice job!!!

They take turns taking photos and they always switch around the H class. Heather does the 1st half, then Oz does the second after he races. That's why there's no pictures of the you or Roger!!!
