Let's hope not.. the version I see is not fun to navigate, but better than nothing.. it has to be a work in progress I would assume. I still can't even thank a post, and the "Activity" page I land in when hitting the site is nothing like the old page, so keeping my fingers crossed this is all transitional..

 

Is there still a market place to buy and sell parts?

 

So it's been a couple of weeks now and this site is still F'd up? WTH?!... I figured it would be fixed by now.
Seriously it's time to make some changes and get this site up to date and hacker proof.
Heck the cover picture at the top of the page is well over 6 years old and I know for a fact the guy 2nd from the left hasn't even looked at his bike in 2 years. This site has been on auto-pilot quite a while now.

 

Instead of complaining, I'm going to offer my thanks and gratitude first. The folks that run this site are all volunteer.

Second, I'm going to offer my help and support. I'm a web designer when not riding and would be happy to help if the need arises.

 

That would be nice...I have a few parts I'd like to sell.

I don't know S*** about websites so could't help if I wanted to.

 

Please don't try to make this in it into moderator bashing. The moderators have nothing to do with it. I understand that the moderators are all volunteers and I give them kudos for all the thankless hours that they volunteer but George is not, he's the owner.

For this site to have remained in it's current state for as long as it has I have to assume that he has given up and moved on. Heck it looks exactly the same as it did a few weeks ago when it first got hacked. It's as if he got it to work half assed and just said. "Ehh... Good enough"

During my normal day of light, interwebz whoring, I frequent a couple forums and have never seen a problem of this stature last more than a 24hrs.

I think it's abandoned. When the bill for hosting comes up, that will probably be the end of it.

 

Let me know when there is a better site out there. Facebook just does not work as well for me. Why does not someone step up and offer to buy the site from George? Maybe because you can make a bunch more money doing something else?

 

I'd bet this site is generating less revenue now, in its current state, than it was before the trouble. I'm certainly spending less time putzing around here lately.

I agree 100%. I don't know what's been done or what's being done, I'm completely out of the loop. Dino & I talked while I was vacationing in Boston and he filled me in on how it happened and that they were working on it, but seems nothing has been done since. This is an admin/IT issue and nothing I can do, but try and moderate threads the best I can.

BTW, moved to Website Discussion Forum.

Dean, I was thinking about that. I would do it but I'm flat broke and know nothing about how to run a web site.
If STR goes under it will be a sad day for the So Cal MTB'n community. I've gotten to know many of you through this web site.
