I thought about going this year to check it out, but had a conflict and the camping at $70+ per night seemed quite high.
Just looked and the CG is normally $30 a night thru the county when they are not booked for events.
It's too hard for me to plan that date so far in advance; especially since I usually have a 4H event that weekend.

The site we had last year was the worst EVER site!!! I guess it'd be good if you drive an RV and don't plan to do anything outside of it at your campsite (clean your bike, sit at a campfire, etc...)

The site we're in now is not the biggest but does have a common grass area with plenty of room for tents etc.. I actually ended up booking 2 sites right next to each other, that way our group with campers can camp next to each other this time.

Just looking back on this and forward to April.
Looks like I might have the weekend available and went to the Sea Otter site and the FAQ says to reserve online - but there is no link to do so.

So, I'm assuming it's all sold out - anyone know for sure?

Sea Otter Classic 2011 RV campsites

Hey all, my buddy has 2 RV spots in the B campground for the 2011 SOC. Still planning on racing this year, but we just downsized the trip so no need for the 2 RV spots. Send me a PM if you're interested in taking them off his hands. He's not looking to make anything, just what he paid for them. Thanks

I dont know at this point. I dont really want to drive all the way up and pay for that DH course. I had thought about racing DS but I had hoped to have some time on that bike and on the bmx track but haven't really rode anything for last 3 months. I may still race DS but not really sure. I know Traci was talking to me about it a little at the last race.

DH course changes coming in 2011, courtesy of SRAM, TruVativ and Sea Otter! More info coming soon, but Matt Thompson and SolVista's Momentum Trail Concepts will be in charge of the build. Big, big, BIG props to SRAM for partnering on this one.

SEA OTTER ADDS SPEED, JUMPS - AND A BAG

    Thursday, February 3, 2011

    Speed and Style

A new and exciting competition is being added to an already crazy weekend at Sea Otter. Jeff Lenosky, legendary freeriding course designer, calls it “a combination of a head-to-head race and a freestyle jump contest.” Two riders race head-to-head on identical pump tracks. The fastest racer wins the “Speed” points. The riders also battle for a time advantage by trying to "out trick" the other on two jumps. This is the “Style”. The SRAM Speed & Style promises to be a crowd pleaser.

    Mountain Bike Ride Zone

The College Cyclery Team is revamping the hugely popular SRAM Ride Zone. The new course will be designed by freerider and premier trail builder Randy Spangler. It will include elements of the dual stunt competition, a cross country loop with challenging sections, switchbacks, and pump tracks. The Ride Zone is set up for riders of all levels. It’s a terrific place to demo bikes and equipment. And even better, it’s free of charge.

    Big Air Bag

Straight from the epicenter of the freeriding world of mountain biking comes the Camp of Champions Mountain Bike Camp Big Air Bag. With top pros as your coach, learn to make those jumps like a pro. You’ll go home feeling like champion and counting the days until you can attend the Mountain Bike Camp in Whistler. Ken Achenbach, founder and camp director of the Camp of Champions, says “The Big Air Bag is the next progression in mountain biking. It takes the learning curve and turns it into an arrow pointed UP. It's going to be amazing seeing everyone lose their minds at Sea Otter when they get to "Hit the Bag”.
