Hey everyone, just a quick message. I had to evacuate my place at about 6:00 in Rancho Bernardo. We never received the "reverse-911" message. As we were trying to get out of the community, trees were catching on fire around us from embers. We saw at least two structures go up as we got out. I'll try to check in later. I'm safe at my sister's for now. This has been an incredible morning. Everyone is alive. Be safe, don't hesitate to get out if you have to. This thing moved FAST.
Ya there is a report of a fire around lake Wolford, thats just east of Daley... so i assume its only a matter of time..#-o
Looks like Elfin and a handful of secret sauce trails are going to go as well. I'm on the Coaster heading north in San Diego still. (Not evacuted yet but I need to get ready) The wind is almost calm here. I wonder if the Santa Anas have died down or the fire itself has created it's on funky weather. It is ugly here.
My girlfriends parents neighbourhood is on fire in RB. All over KUSI news right now. Two of our friends houses have burned down. Fingers crossed that her house dosen't go, it backs onto Lake Hodges. I took these this morning in Del Mar.
I lost my radio down there.. not getting updates anymore, so thanks for the continued posting. I know I won't see anything tonight, either.. dang LA news channels.
The Fire has now consumed the North side of Hodges and is burning towards the dam. Elfin Forest is next. Then La Costa.
I can't get any of the streaming stations to load. I think Clear Channel is having problems either due to power outages or something else.. there's a notice on KOGO's main site now.
Thx. We unfortunately just saw images of our apartment complex on the news, and it was on fire. Our unit faces a canyon with huge trees in the backyard. *crying smiley*. I can't reach my computer at home, so hopefully it is only because the power is out *fingers crossed*. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. It means a lot during times like this. Unfortunately my lovely car and my bike are still in the garage. Take the car you unwieldly powerful fire beast, please just leave the bike... 8-[
omg Mark, am so sorry to hear about this...I can't imagine what you must be thinking, but we are glad you are safe.
