Big DEVO fan - also, kinda 'devoid' of common sense whilst bombing downhill on the ol' hardtail. The 169 is just my old pager code from waaayyyy back in the day.....'nuf said.

Mine is fairly uninspired given the subject matter of this site. I always add a 12 to my screen names because it's been my baseball jersey number from LL to College. Us ballplayers are all superstitious that way :)

I got my screen name from my friend who introduced me to mountain bikes. I started downhilling and she was playing with my phone about 7 years ago and put Downhilldoll as my username. Then someone from Arizona used it before I did so I put a CA as in California in front of it. Love going down.. hill

I wanted the join the military for a long time (still might) and chauvinist means like blindly loyal, kinda just like standing behind my country no matter their decision. And youth cause I'm young and it sounded cool together.

great topic, I have wondered about some of these names for a long time!

Mine was given to me by my riding buds because I would charge ahead on Santiago Truck Trail and loop them on a drop (near the high point before descending down to the flag), and then ride past them again. They would say, wow-deja-vu! My last name starts with vu too, so it stuck. My favorite memory of this was on a night ride; I had looped back and the guy that was chasing me down had no idea and headed to Old Camp. I stayed back with some other riders, but then put on the gas and caught him just as he got to the flat spot. He turned around and asked me "Hey, where is Paul??" (that's my name) Classic!!

    other names......
My first screen name was kujowabo on SoCalMTB, kind of a mish mash of my last name, Cabo-Wabo and a snarling dog thrown in for good measure. Then I changed it to 'EzyRider' after my first 24 hour race, we were Team Purple Haze, everyone picks a Hendrix song for a Team name (the tradition continues to this day) I use that one on MTBR, but I rarely post there.

Anyhoo, I like Deja-Vu, so I am sticking with it.

Its the name of my first dedicated SS. Cannondale 1FG. Haven't ridden this for probably 2 years (just a frame now) but the name stuck.

Cru Jones is the most famous bmx rider in the history of the sport. He took down his arch rival Bart Taylor in the superbowl of bmx races, "Helltrack". This was documented in the 80's flick "Rad" which is a cult classic. Best Movie Ever!!

my handle comes from a nickname I've had since fifth grade. My real name is richard and my friends all call me dutch, basically because one dude thought I looked like the kid on the dutch boy paint can. it has stuck. The nice thing about it is that if I ever show up to any of the STR rides, you all will be comforted knowing that the name I go by is the same as my forum name.

besides all that, the nickname is memorable and easy to pronounce, two pluses in my book.

I'm a harpist, I play the harp. It always struck me as funny when people used the word 'harp' or 'harping'. Like as in, 'Do you have to harp on the subject?' Guess I'm the one harping on it now.

So CB are my initials and harping...you get it. ;)
