I was going to say something along those lines. Everyone is begging for some type of lift assisted riding......But, the one we have somewhere near, most call unridable, and not worth even looking into.

What about........wait for it..........wait for it.............Hitting up the people that run Baldy..... AND START BUILDING SOME GOOD SHIT.....So its loose, so its steep......... THATS DOWNHILL!!!!!!

About 2yrs./ago there was a guy on emptybeer who was working on getting Baldy open.He had talked to the operators and was in the process of sending out updates on what was happening. Then he stopped posting about it.Last I heard/read there might have been a slight problem with the forest service buying into it.Someone else may have better info, but that is the last I heard.-Lloyd

Wait what I thought Fontana was gnarly DH.:lol:

I would take loose and steep then wet roots and steep.

All i know is me and gray had so much fun today at baldy we paid the extra 90 bucks so we could come all year. Lots of new stuf and the old stuff is still fun. Managed to rip through 4x4 knee /shin pads and still get a major cut in my leg, gotta love rocks.

But yeah like all the other sheep say, baldy isnt worth ridng you should never go there, its steep and looks scary

ive had a blast at baldy, its a nice change of scenery and lift assist makes up for the slipperynees, but thats also half the fun challenge

Went to Baldy today for the first time. Talk about a fun. Blows that lame SSDH spot out of the water. Finally some real DH action. Not groomed BMX riding.

    What kind of tire?

Talked to your buddy with the Leatt for awhile. I blew my tire up twice on the same rock.

Its all about keeping the wheels rolling. Once you get the hang of it the loose stuff is fun. So easy to whip the rear around.

    Give it another shot.

baldy is one of the only places i run full pads, looks like next pay check im ordering a pressure suit and new 4x4 pads from 661

did you get a pass? gray and I are going to be there alot, did you see the new stuff?
you kind of need a guide your first time, its a fun ride down the road to the falls but not so much fun hiking back up

Yeah it really would suck to go there if you couldn't ride it. They aren't little boy trails.

I have been snowboarding at Baldy since 1988.

Every year they talk about putting money into the hill to make it a better place.

Those of you hoping they will put money into it for Mtn Biking will be left sadly mistaken if you expect them to do it.

I was there that day Phil was filming for Union.

I happened to be going up the lift at the time of the crash and saw it happen. I seriously didnt think Vic was going to make it. He forgot his helmet that day and borrowed that silly old road helmet...

Vic defiantly had some skill though. I think he won a readers award at Big Mag and brought down some new style at the original Red Bull Rampage's in Hurricane.

I wonder what he is up to now?
