***Save The Date** Memorial Day Luge Flag Ceremony May 25th @ 10:30am

Sunday, May 25th at 10:30am we will have a Luge Flag replacement ceremony.

Save The date - lets make it a huge turnout this year!!

 

Sounds good. Thought this would actually be on Memorial Day.
I wouldn't be able to make that time on the Monday; but I should be able to make this day.

 

Oooh, this would be a terrific target for my triumphant return to riding! Sign me up!

 

In for sure...got an email from a friend who was up there recently who said the flag was gone. Here's the email;
Rode luge Sat and noticed the flag at the top was missing. Looked closer and
the cement was dug out of the ground so the pole does not stand up solidly.
Someone must have put the flag in the box. Who would destroy a flag pole?I've not been up in a bit...any input?

I'll be up on Tuesday to check it out. If someone can report sooner with pics, that would be great.

the flag on the ground/in the box...that disturbs me more. Odd freak of nature that moved the pole? Sure hope someone can head up and report back soon.

That sucks! Who would do this? N/M - I don't want to know. Let's find a way to get the pole re-set appropriately. Forest Service Quad? Warrior Society? Kioti? Can we get someone to give permission to bring a quad up there?

 

This problem will be fixed. Whether or not it stays fixed will depend on why it was damaged in the first place. No quads will be required and repair plans are already in the works.

 

This will be fixed shortly and I will report back. We are going to need some donations so anything will help.

I will be up there tomorrow (Wednesday) around 6 if anyone wants to join. This will be a recon mission to survey the damage.

We have a work party forming and I will keep you up to date. We are going to need some help lugging concrete up to the site. I'm anticipating a work party on Saturday the 12th.

 

Hi Everyone...I'll be going up to the Luge flagpole Sunday morning to replace the flag. Hopefully, there is a pole to hang the flag on??

I'll be departing from Cook's at 10:30am. I should be up at the flagpole by 11am.

I have daddy duties tomorrow so i won't be able to join, but hope to see some pictures posted here from the ride.

Is it 10:30 at the flag? Or start the ride at 10:30?
A friend and I are planning to be at the flag at 10:30 for the event.
