LBC? Where is that? That race looks bad ass! And good reason to ride my bike getting there.

Next road ride we only do the planned route. No extra riding cause someone says "theres a great taco place just a bit up PCH" and we end up doing almost a century. Thats right Chewy...I'm looking at you...[-(

lol ya yorba to LBC (long beach city) to 2nd st, queen mary or the boat races sounds good. Sounds like an 80 miler maybe?

Did a quick route map on google earth, looks like it'll be at least 80 miles from the Yorba Linda parking lot. 20mi to pch, 20 more from there to the Queen Mary area in Long Beach.

seriously lets ride from green river and make it a century ride. sounds like we have our route planed out now. green river to yorba to new port and north up to LB boat race for lunch. then we head back. nice little century if there is such a thing.

One stipulation we dont start the ride going 30 mph. lets try to keep it a an even 25mph there and back maybe? with about 1 min pulls?

If we leave from green river at 8am should pass angles by 8:30? no later than nine. I'm down for green river, leave at 8am?

The irvine one you are thinking about is the mountains to sea trail. It starts right where irvine rec area is (i think). Like where chapman turns into santiago and crosses jamboree. It starts there. Its an alright trail. Don't know distance because I always would loop it around. You can start at the shopping center there, so santiago canyon. Stay on el toro to laguna coast and make a left down to PCH then come back up to the santa ana river trail. Take that around to like katella and take that all the way back to where you started. That is a good loop.

For Mountains to Sea Trail in Irvine, we usually start at Col Bill Barber Marine Park (Harvard and Barranca). You can head south to Back Bay past UCI. The trail roughly parallels Jamboree Road.

The Back Bay loop is one of the most scenic paved bike trails in OC. Highly recommended.

Heading north, you can go to the south end of Peter's Canyon. Ride north on Harvard, past Edinger and turn left onto the trail just past the railroad tracks. The path winds it way up to Peter's Canyon along Jamboree.

The variation I like the best from Barber is head east along San Diego Creek path (roughly parallels Alton), head south down Jeffrey along the path, turn left along the 405, cross the foot/bike bridge and turn south on Sand/Shady Canyon bike path. The trail climbs and descends and is very scenic, passing by the Open Preserve. You'll end up at Culver and Anteater, at UCI. Work your way thru UCI and catch the path again south at Campus, Mesa or California.

From there, head to the spectacular Back Bay.
