Saturday 5/26/12 Think Pink CHSP newbie/social and after ride BBQ

    Well things have been a bit hectic for me lately, but I need to hang out with my STR family. Unlike my other newbie/socials I would like to add a theme to this one. I ask that everybody wear a little or a lot of pink for this ride to show the beautiful ladies that are currently or have battled breast cancer that we care and are here to support them. I would also like us to show support for those who have been affected by any type of cancer in general. As usual the pace will be newbie/social with many regroups and nobody gets left behind. Plan is to go up Telegraph to 4 corners and back to hang out for some good BBQ grub. I know the WLC folks are thinking why now, but we could do some healthy BBQing as well. Please let me know what you're volunteering to bring and I'll add it to this post. Please RSVP so we can figure out how much food is needed.

    *Disclaimer - I'm 99% going. Not sure when my wife will start chemo yet. Please do this ride even if for some reason I can't make it.

    Food List:
    brown chicken brown cow - pulled pork sammies
    formu1fan - burgers
    mamba_gurl - cupcakes
    grandpa - grill and burgers
    redwoods - gatorade or similar drinks
    zerogravity - mini PA system and a canopy
    rschroeder714 - napkins, chips, cooler with water
    cyclotourist - napkins, soda/juice, possible a special blend adult beverage
    chadvicious - chips
    me - plates, brats, buns, condiments
    Pierre - grill
    Fueledbyex8 - dogs and buns


    some addition items/food/drink ideas (some of these aren't needed, just throwing out ideas)

    additional drinks - kid friendly and/or adult friendly (cups recommended for adult friendly)
    steaks/ribs - lol... if you got the $$ to burn
    peppers for the grill
    veggies for the grill
    veggie burgers.. i know i know

    This sounds good Tony. I'm gonna try to make it out but not quite sure yet because I might be starting a new job in the next week. If I am able I can bring a 22" Weber grill.

    if zerogravity is able to go I will go with him and I can watch everything since I cant ride yet. If we can go we will bring pink & white cupcakes. I know they are not healthy but they taste good. Maybe I can find or make pink ribbons to put on top of them too.

    I have seen a lot of pink things lately at Jaxs and Fullerton bike shops, including Jerseys, gloves, socks all with the pink ribbon support label. There are also pink bells. Everyone could also tie a piece of pink ribbon under their seats too.

    Thanks for organizing this! I hope I can make it, with possibly a kid or two, but might be going to Disneyland that Friday, which means sleeping in Saturday morning!!!
