Not fixed yet. The FS is hoping to receive emergency funds to help repair it. The road up to that point has been graded. You can ride or hike past the boundary. You just won't be able to drive in.

How far up the road, exactly, is the boundary? Is it right after that first major creek crossing, where the "forest adventure pass required" sign is? I wouldnt mind parking there to hit hily jim/trabuco

The boundary is 2.7 miles up the dirt road, and the washed-out crossing is 0.8 miles past that. The Forest Service put up a gate right before the first crossing (at the boundary), and I've seen it both closed and open this week.

I drove a Toyota Camry up there last week, no problem. The rain that's forecast could change that, though.

You can drive up to the first crossing. There is a gate there now. Only emergency vehicles and residents of that canyon have keys.
From there you have to ride or hike in.

Has this change kept the first part of the road in any better condition? Or are all the 4-wheelers simply tearing up the first part now?

Yes, it is Monster Truck Mayhem up to the FS boundary. But after the gate, it is beautiful.

Got this email from Debra Clarke, looks like the crossing is fixed.

Trabuco Canyon is again open. The El Dorado Road Crew did a great job on the water crossings!

The crew has moved over to Maple Springs to begin work. Maple Springs will be closed to ALL entry for the next week or so while the crew is working in there.

Tomorrow there should be an official Press Release and I will send it out as soon as I receive it.

Will you still be able to do Blackstar to Motorway since it ends after the gate by Maple Springs?

Debra's email mentioned Maple Springs being closed to ALL entry, but it might be a good idea to double check before riding Motorway.

Yup, I locked in on Trabuco being open and missed that part.

A number of reports today on GeoLadders of successful Blackstar-Motorway rides, including one where the rider turned left up Maple Springs after the Motorway drop and was turned back by a ranger. From that I'd guess Blackstar to Motorway is fine, just don't plan to go up Maple Springs afterward.
