I had a similar situation Yesterday that of Whiting/Luge loop,

On my way up Modjeska, there was a grey/silver Prius honking hes horn that so happen to be a bike bell (go figure). He was swerving left and right, punching hes gas, flickering his high beams, coming up close and backing up. I did not pull over, because we were on the far right side of the white line. If you ridden up Mod, You know that road has a white line that is 6 to 8 inches wide. Me and the other rider were train riding and not side by side.

He finally decided to pass us up and implemented a very kind gesture at the same time. He was so up-set flipping us off while rocking the bike bell at the same time, he almost went off the road. Tires were on the ditch it was so close - I was nice enough to yell "watch the road" as he swerves back in line.

Bad history or bad blood with that guy on Easter day !!

MS > Motorway: the loose second downhill on main divide after 4 corners is pretty beat up with lots of loose chunks on top of an inch of dust. Motorway is in great shape. Only encountered 2 flies. Started at 7:30. 3 mile pavement was cool and mostly shady. Climb to 4 corners was sunny but somewhat cool to warm. Jumped on Main Divide at 9am and was heating up pretty good. Motorway was hot, but luckily was all downhill.

Any moto guys on BS these days? Ranger told me that the disabled woman petitioning for wheelchair access thru the gate has been given the greenlight and, supposedly, the gate has been altered to allow a motorized w/c thru. Ranger then said that as she understands it, this would then give legal access to motos as well.

If that's the case I'll be so bummed. I like moto's but not next to me while I'm riding. I hope HTT isn't next.

There is now a sign at the gate that says motos are prohibited.

They put new metal posts on the left side of gate @ HTT. It's kind of a tight squeeze with bike now. Doesn't look like there's any plan to open that up any time soon...knock on wood.

That's what I thought. Don't know why she said that. Is there a big enough opening now for motos in any case?

Very gray area....it is still an easement to the Cleveland NF, but it under the run of the OC Parks.....so I highly doubt they would allow moto's into one of the OC Parks.

Joplin in fine shape after the rain. Some shallow rain ruts, not bad. Overgrown in spots, but not detracting much from the fun.

No problem, Sir Crashalot and I drove up there Wed. in his Honda Element. Creek crossings are pretty much dry, no mud, a couple of holes with water in them farther up but you can avoid them. Holy Jim is in prime condition right now, creek crossings on the lower part have a little water, dry on the switchbacks and a little tacky further up.

    An hour ago this morning,

Flag to Jeep and some, conditions are great. Moist terrain all through out the ride. Also Hunting season is open, hunters by 1 or two are trough out STT and ol Camp. I met one of them this morning, cool pep, he live right pass the general store next to Trabuco Rd. "WOW" the politics of being a hunter, we carried a 20minute conversation about some of the locals that of animal activist and such.

    Eyes up, have fun.

Keep in mind that tomorrow, Nov 2 there's a 50k footrace starting at Blue Jay and on the Main Divide, Trabuco, WHT, UHJ.

Thanks, Gene & all. The route also goes up HJ.

Fire Dave is looking for a trail sweep for Trabuco Creek trail. If anyone is planning to ride Trabuco tomorrow, it would be really cool if you could check in with Dave at the HJ parking lot or fire barn and again on the way out. TIA.
