Thanks for the trail work Gene & everyone else who was out there. We saw Steve T. on Yeager as we were descending during our nice little UQ training ride.

Anyone heading up MS today? Would love to know if the snow level is low enough my kids could hike to it. That means before the end of the pavement.

Looks grim for that. Snow level down to 2600, but accumulations negligible.

Thanks to the Warrior Society members for trail work.

Looking at Saddleback from home near Mission Viejo Lake, it looks like there will be some snow along the pavement, but it's been sunny all day here so I would think it would be a bit sloppy now. If the temps drop now and tonight, it'll just turn to black ice.

It was gorgeous from our area this morning, with a nice blanket of snow reaching down to the 2,500 or 3,000 foot level.

I took this craptastic cell phone shot of the peak at around 4:30 from Orange, and you can see the snow on the west & north sides reaching well below the Main Divide & Four Corners. I'd guess that the shady/sheltered areas on Maple and above could have some snow and muck for a while.

    This angle,

From south end of town, looking NEE?

I'm from Lake forest, don't look the same from this angle. Using snow for refference :)

You're not going to see the snow that's on the road and trails from where we are. This pic was taken from a friend who did Indian Truck Trail to Upper Holy Jim yesterday. There was lots of snow and he said there was a foot of snow on Upper HJ.

I was in Rancho SM yesterday and there was still lots of snow on the MD. I would imagine there will be snow/ice in some of the shaded areas of Harding or at best wet and muddy in sections where it has melted. It was cold last night, so I expect there to be lots of black ice.

You might want to check the day of the event. If you show up on Sunday you are going to miss it. You can double check the date with the thread you started.

Snow made continuing on MS pretty much a HAB in the snow from 3,600 ft today. I turned around 2.5 miles from 4C on Maple Springs. Blackstar-MW was 100% rideable though. Have fun this weekend party people and ride safe!!

Rode MS to Motorway today. Motorway is in the best condition I have ever seen. A bit loose at the top, but majority of the trail was perfect. Face eating flies are out and are getting bigger. Was swarmed by them during the pavement part of MS and some on the MD going up the wall. Good luck to you VQ/CC guys/gals and kick some butt!

A couple weeks ago I did Harding-MS-Harding and boy does MS suck A$$ right now. Potholes, loose crappy dirt, flies, and millions of motorcycles. By the time I got back to Harding I felt like a kid in a candy store!! :)

First time for me, no complaints. Eating it up as much as I can, nice scenery.

So yesterday on my climb up STT to Old Camp 2 things

    1) On the final climb along the Telephone poles...it looked like there was some brushing or crushing I am not sure which ... look like someone drove a quad or something

    2) On way back when I did that little climb back to where Cadilac joins... glad I was a bit slow...cause a big Yellow 4x4 with a bunch of young dude... came flying by...barely in control and then started down Cadilac, did not get a plate...but I am glad there was any cyclist or hikers in thier way.
