Been to court dozens of times for bike tickets.

He had priors, that makes him a criminal in the eyes of the law and as such held to a higher standard.

    **** that.

Here in HB people on bikes NEVER ever stop for stop signs, even right in front of the 5-0 on main street. I don't agree with how its ok to run stop signs right in front of the cops and cars here but in other places you'll get rolled for running a stop sign with no cars and a cop thats hiding. If there's other cars at the intersection I stop and give the right away to who was there first, even in hb with drunk ufc fighters on their wanna be chopper beach cruisers not thinking twice about stopping even for a moving car.

Moral of my story is I wish the law would relax a bit on bikes and stop signs, maybe make them yield signs if there's no other traffic.

How many days after the verdict against the "good doc" did this story come out?

Seems a subtle distaste was left in the mouth of a reporter at the Register. After all, this story could have made "news" any other time.

Yeah, that's right Dizle...cyclists are special people, and we should tailor the laws to appease and condone their reckless behavior. While we're at it, let's not charge them with Drunk Riding, when they ride intoxicated. After all, reckless endangerment is a term applicable only to those outside the cycling community...#-o

Here in Hawaii they ride on the sidewalk, wrong way in the road, run red lights and talk on phones while riding all in front of the 5-0 and nothing. But if you were to do any of that on a skateboard you are dunzo.

They will give you a $396 ticket in Newport Beach for riding your bike in a crosswalk. Ride in the street or walk your bike in the crosswalk.

I live right off Pacific Coast Highway in North Laguna and watch the police ticket dozens of roadies every weekend.

If you blatantly run through a stop sign without even attempting to slow down to make sure it's safe I'm sure almost all cops will give you a ticket and rightfully so. On the other hand coming to a complete stop doesn't make sense to me or for that matter most other road riders. It's kind of like speed limits. Does it make sense to drive on a freeway to Vegas at 65 mph?

The article says he might have to pay the almost 400 bucks but I believe he'll pay a lot less.

Well, I apreciate the spirit here, but can we be careful about putting Idaho in charge of setting precedents for the rest of us!

Umm....there are signs all over the place and a cop on every other block.
