Sauce and I are planning on getting together to SS San Juan on Sat, May 12.

Join us at the lower trailhead (yup, we're so masochistic we're climbing up) at 8:30 am.

SS preferred, but not required. All bikes and riders welcome, as long as you can pedal as fast as I can walk my SS up to Cocktail Rocks 8-[

I'd like to say we're planning on doing the route below, but if for some reason the group is beat we can always head back down after Cocktail.

My SS will probably be rebuilt by then - altho I'm more than happy to take the SJ instead
The top loop from cocktail is super fun in a clockwise direction

    No Idyllwild Challenge? :(

    No Toad Fest? :drunk:

    Both are that day!

Idyllwild even has a cat for SS, or a longer course option (plus, a discount for Mothers, since it's Mother's Day weekend--a plus for me).

Toad Fest is raising money for Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation. And, I know that I could benefit from any research into mental health (although the voices are nice to talk to when I'm lonely)

Look, if I'm riding a SS, so are YOU! :protest:

Yeah, from Cocktail Rocks we climb up and then make a right at 4 corners and end up coming back up behind Cocktail. I've never ridden it the other direction.

No, it's tough for us to shell out $60-$100 on weekends for rides. We discussed the Toad Fest, which I'm sure will be a good time, but we can't justify the fees. I know it's not exorbitant and they have prizes and stuff. Not that we don't care, just that for both of us to do the rides/races every weekend we then wouldn't be able to pay off our debt from having bikes :)

We're gonna keep the racing to a minimum for now also.

Hope everyone has fun doing the other two events as well, though!

My legs might not thank me for this! Anti clockwise from cocktail isnt so much fun and besides I like the challenge of climbing the rocky bits back towards cocktail.

I'll be there. At the moment, I can't figure out how to RSVP. Whatever!

Who ever doesn't bring a s-s buys post-ride beer!!! :p Keith, you are so not getting out of this one. You're just affraid I'll kick your ass on the s-s, eh? :p j/k. Keith is actually really good on his s-s. And with that new Reba fork on it (copy cat), it'll fly.

Oh, I was going to do Idyllwild "Spring Fling," but I realized that would mean I'd be racing like every weekend 6 weeks in a row. Too much. I think I want to keep it to every other weekend ... this summer ... if I can help it. Race burn-out would suck. I can't wait to do a fun group ride; it's been a long time with my training and racing.

Where are you Jeff and Justin? Why have you not RSVP'ed?! Miss you guys.

Already booked for the Fontucky Derby this weekend. I seem to keep missing the dratted Noble! Should have some free weekends coming up for STR group rides though :)
