I got up to go and was greeted with a flat tire and a goathead.
Fixed it up quick with a patch and flipped the bike for chain lube. I hear a hissing sound and discover puncture #2.
I pulled out just a bit of tube, patched the hole, and mounted it up again.
    Then I heard #3....
I took it as a sign and called it a wash.

    Yea

Had something similar. Riding to meet the group at the dog park. The Talega loop took me longer than estimated and starting cranking hard. The result......snapped chain#-o. My quick snap links were in my other pack:-s so I had to do it the Old Skool way. Was in a hurry that made matters worse. Took me 30 min to fix the chain#-o Missed the group but caught-up with Foo and Bighit.........turned out good:)

Thanks for the Kudos Eric!! It was great to be able to get out and meet some new faces, and the SCST are not that easy...very much like interval training. Everybody did GREAT!!!
See you out on the trails.

Gotta tell you, the tracks are incredibly fun but very challenging if you're not used to tight singletrack with a lot of steeps both ways

The bridges wouldn't be so bad if you had a straight run at them but most pop out right after a tight turn, and the one with a ten foot drop on both sides, yah I walked that one 8-[

    Its mental, but thats life

    foo,

I love it. You just named that bridge on Qualifier "Golden gate", and I'm sure it will stick!

The "banked" bridge on Holeshot and the "Hobo or Punk" bridge on Glitter Gulch as well as the "Golden Gate" are no mistake they have some very deliberate interest to them to get your attention while not being too sketchy or unsafe.

I don't know if there has ever been a poll on this forum of the trail features people like best, but that might be interesting as I have read discussions on building dumb jumps and the like.

i do appreciate the fact that you guys laid out the trail in such a way that there is no letting up on your attention...the bridges are one of those features that you have to watch out for :)

I'm still working on the steep short climbs coming around a corner...but i must confess i read "Golden Gate" from keepwhathappens he mentioned it at some point and it was appropriate. I love that crossing

Golden Gate is sooo appropriate!! I LOVE all those bridges...some of them come up so fast when you come around the corner, it's best to just not think...just roll!!!! AND PRAY~

you know the first time i rode the two combo bridges i almost ate shat because i was fixating on the sides as opposed to the where i wanted to go.

there's the 2nd creek crossing that's a trip on the mellon too when you are going straight down and then up the other side that was a mind blower at first for me

Well, since Golden is my last name and that bridge scared the piss out of me, I feel like like I rather resemble that remark

Side note-Always said if I ever start a bathroom fixtures store that I would name it....Golden Showers, small rim shot please

DeeZee took me on one that was a little older and a little thinner than the others; you think about when approaching it.It was on the north side of the park.
