Hello all. I just wanted to start a thread for these trails, as I didn't see a thread anywhere else. I have ridden these trails just a few times, most recently yesterday, for about 15. What a great bunch of trails, especially to have in your own backyard.

I'm sure most people know, but in case anyone that sees this doesn't, the best place to park for riding here is at the end of Avenida La Pata, off of Pico.

    See you on the trails!

As you are heading North on Pico, turn right on La Plata, head up the hill, as the hill decends look for Steed Park on your right hand side, that is we park.
The best time to ride the trails are at night, what a rush. Enjoy

I grew up in SC and live next to La Pata and the skatepark.

Hit me up if you want to ride there with someone. I can show you some cool stuff.

I normally take the ridge trail to Forts or Dan Juan.

I am stationed just inside the Christianitos Gate to Camp Pendleton on the south end of SCST. I usually ride there several times a week at around 1130, starting from the south side since I can ride there from work. I make my way up to the power plant to Pico, to the dog park, then back down toward Christianitos. I am on a Blue Motobecane hardtail.

I haven't surfed upper Trestles in a while but I remember seeing a lot of bikers down at Christianitos on the east side of the fwy where we park(Carl's Jr. lot). Can we enter from there, or is that a military gate?

You can go east from the Carl's Jr parking lot for about 2 miles on Christianitos before you hit the gate...

TWF created 90% of these trails and have named it "the weedpatch". We ride here constantly and do the trail maintenance when necessary. Glad everyone is enjoying it and you can go to our website for a map with the trail names.

Live in SC and have been riding there for about three years. Thanks for all the work TWTF has done.

We were out in the weedpatch today. Still a little damp but mostly rideable. Looks like some jackasses were out in 4WD vehicles during the rain, otherwise trails are in pretty good shape. Should be excellent in about 2 days.

Out there today, trails are in great shape thanks to the diversions made by TWTF. Fast and fun.

To the people that have been working on the SCST: Thanks a lot for your hard work. I thank you every time I roll across one of those drainages you guys recently dug. It's on my shopping list to get a good set of pruning shears to take with me, then I will be helping out, keeping the trails clear.

Has anyone given any thought o replacing that one bridge out there, the one that's partially made with sticks? This is not a complaint about workmanship, just a question. That's the only bridge that looks like it might break, any day...

BTW, I'm usually out there on a Cannondale Taurine Carbon 1. I can't wait to do some night riding there, too. Should have a light set, soon!

Oh no... you can't do that or WTFers will be mad :protest:

That trail is called Stick Bridge for a reason.

Hey, are we still riding tomorrow afternoon?

    4:30pm at the dog park

Anyone else want to join us for a late afternoon/evening ride?
