It's on the calendar for Oct. 30th.

Here's the plan: I can put together a route of 45+ miles and not see the same trail twice in San Clemente (hence the name "nothing twice"). 75% single track, 20% fire road, 4% pavement, 1% HAB. Included would be most of the trails in the weedpatch, plus a bunch of Talega trails and roads that don't see much traffic. I'll provide GPS data, plus direction arrows on the trail.

All self supoorted. The route is open enough to public roads and houses, but maybe dropping water stashes early can be in the plan also.

This is a drop ride. Meaning: your gonna get dropped. Make it a social event if you want, but it will just take you that much longer.

For those that think these are just some lazy flat trails, be prepared for some climbs. They are not long, but there's a bunch of them.

    Comments and suggestions??
('casue we all know you guys/gals have some opinions)

Sounds interesting to me. I love all that weedpatch stuff...if the Talega riding is similar, i'd dig it.

I don't do gps for rides; got a map of what you're thinking of? (pm it if necessary)

It's all in my head. I need to GPS it myself to get it onto paper.

I know nothing about those trails, but I would definitely come down the mountain for a ride like this...

    I'm in!!

I'm in, and I don't get "dropped" I simply choose to quit early to save you all a spot at the Pizza Port.
I'll help set the route on the Dana Point / SJC side of the ride...definitely comparable to the weed patch.

Third week in Oct, is Upland opener and I'll be hunting Quail / Chukar. So any other weekend.

This sounds very interesting ... I could be persuaded... especially with a Pizza Port stop afterwards to lick wounds....

It's on the calender for Oct.30th

Apparently, hunting season played a major role on this date. oh, and some other races and kids fashion shows that I must attend.

I'll get a a prelim map done this weekend.
Opening up a route to Dana hills will need to be explored.
Not to many fun ways in or out though, but would be a great addition of single track.

I will probably be one of the first to drop, but I love riding these trails, so I'm in.
Let me know if you need any help setting anything up.

Did part of this ride with Mr. Hobbs for a lunch time ride and wow, I know now why its called San Clemente Single Tracks as those trails are skinny. Steep climbs short climbs and fun downhills, Mr Hobbs worked me over!

Just a heads up and little side note to those who may not be familiar with the single track area....
Stay on those "skinny trails" because certain areas have a pretty good dose of poison oak. So don't go wandering off to take a leak without noting what you're walking into. Just a little FYI

I'd love to join this ride, but to be real honest.....
The farthest I've ever ridden, so far, is 13 miles :-(
Gonna have to keep working my way up to reach that 45 number.
Maybe I'll be ready for the next one ???

Have fun and hope it's not a blazing day for you.

50% more single track, lower elevation, much more fun DH sections. Very different ride.

Too many other races/rides going on any sooner, the heat, and it 45 miles of trails that needs to be layed out.

I decided to drink the Kool-Aid and get myself a 29er. Don't worry Hobbs, I didn't get a Rig. If we don't ride together before then I'll see you with big wheels for 45 miles in Oct.
