Anyone heard of Rock Racing? They seem to be a newer ish team. Sherri (CowGirl) gave me the contact info of Austin Carroll, who races Pro for them. Well i started talking to Austin and i looked up RockRacing.com, and all i have to say is wow.! For a Newer team, they have alot of money invested.. They have 6 Cadillac Escalades Pimped out in the Rock racing logo's, a trailer, a 35 foot rig, and a Rock Racing Rols Royce. YES i said Rolls Royce. Just thought i'd share, i thought it was neat a road bike team had their own Rolls.
I see Tyler Hamilton is on the team, when did he start riding again, I thought last year he was linked to another drug scandal.
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php?id=news/2004/sep04/sep21news3 Looks like he had two tests... I think they showed a blood transfusion, but is that illegal in cycling? **sorry i read more... Looks like cyclist get blood taken out, then reinjected back into them a few days before a race, which acts as a natural enhancement.. It boosts the red blood cells which gives the cyclist a power boost for the race. This is actually kinda interesting.
Yeah, I was working a local Road Race (Boulevard) and their "B" squad showed up complete with Escalades and the huge trailer. The most "Pimped Out" road racing team fo' shizzle...
It's kinda cool, but they do have a lot of dopers on the team. Half of them couldn't start the Tour of CA because they aren't allowed to ride. FWIW, their kits are my fave in the peloton this season. I don't like what Slipstream did to theirs.
Them are some sweet Caddies and they had the most popular booth at the 7th Stage of the Tour of California. Caddie #1 Caddie #2 Floyd Landis chillin' at the Rock Racing Trailer My photo skills suck.
Damn! I did it wrong!! I just donated before my last race, knew I had forgotten something #-o Good thing it was just SuperD! BTW, it's just a "natural enhancement", there are several ill effects and risks with it (like death). Tyler's excuse for it was priceless; they found two types of DNA, Tyler said it was from a conjoined twin that had been absorbed when he was an embryo http://www.tdfblog.com/2005/04/tyler_hamilton__1.html
Hey B, did ya just climb out from under the "rock"? Just messin with ya. They definitely have a pimped out team but what they really need to do now is put some of the money into DH and XC racing, even some 4x and then pay for a bit of air time. I would think their image could attract a few good sponsors along with air time/tele coverage and more money to the riders, would be a big boost to the mtb racing scene here in the states. Anyone remember when beginners were getting a cash payout for placing?
Trust me, Im working on that And no, i wasnt hiding under a rock  I just havent been around road bikes as long as some people *cough cough* :?:
Yeah, Rock & Republic. I just haven't seen any other races this year, so didn't know the kit changed on a regular basis.
Think of it like pumping paste through your heart instead of blood...although your blood can carry more oxygen, your heart has to work harder to push your blood (now sludge) around your body which can lead to heart failure.
Symbolism means something. Using ginormous gas-hog Escalades for bike support is beyond ironic. It's just crass and flies in the face of the cycling community. And the Bentley is just over the top ostentatious. I'd be embarrassed to be on that team. There's some older discussion here...http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/roadie-hangout/14223-check-out-rock-racings-team-car.html
